Guide, Pod Cast HD Playback & Best DVD Ripper

Just got the SageTV HD200, ran it in standalone mode ran ok then loaded the WHS Add-in trial and wow! This unit runs as advertised, does what I bought it for, plays my pictures, music and home videos an ripped DVDs without a beat. Now that I am hooked on some of its features some minor issues are showing up and not found a solution in either of the manuals or plowing through the forum. Probably the answers are in the forum just not found. First the web tv guide has not down loaded. I have tested place shifter and it says I have web connectivity. Second if I try to watch a full HD pod cast, ie Hubble, these HDs won’t play, jumpy, no Audio. SD pod casts plays fine but wasting my HD TV. None of these are major issue, they are bonuses that I have found and nice to have.

Some follow-on questions, as SageTV WHS add-in works so good I went to buy a license but there is no license for the WHS Add-in, just for the windows version and Placeshifter. I assume I Purchase that. I would think I could later add a tuner card and utilize SageTV and Placeshifter on a one PC, and the WHS server. Also, any work on the best DVD ripping software. Been trying out Magic DVD Ripper, seams to work fine but getting some varying outputs, not sure yet if that is just driven by the DVDs then selves.

My configuration: Server: HP EX-487, 1 TB on 3 Drives, has all my content, PC: Dell 8300 Pent 4, 4GB RAM, 2 500 HDDs all the power I have needed so far, SageTV WHS Add-in and HD200 on my Sony 55" HDTV.

Thanks, this looks like a great piece of equipment with some enthusiastic users.

Yes, the WHS version uses a Windows SageTV license. And, when it is installed on WHS, it includes 1 built-in Placeshifter license.

I'd suggest DVDFab - I've been using it's FREE version very successfully to rip the folder structure.

Thanks all for the recommendations on DVD Software and SageTv licensing. Intrested to know if there is any reason the Guide has not downloaded. Do I need to open a port on my router?
