HD-PVR & Vista 64 bit
Hi,
I have been trying to use an HD-PVR with my Vista 64 bit machine (using the supplied software and also SageTV) however I can not get it to work (no picture). On other forums I have read that despite the unit showing on the website as being compatible the latest 1.5.6 driver do not work on Vista 64 bit OS. Has anyone else tried the HD PVR with 1.5.6 drivers on Vista 64? Thanks, David Last edited by Bacon2002; 08-02-2009 at 11:07 PM. |

Yes, I have mine working using the latest drivers on Windows 7 x64. While it is true that some of the beta drivers that were released don't work for 64 bit, the official drivers typically do work.
When you say that it doesn't work for you, are you referring to recording or playback? Can you record outside of Sage (e.g. in TME)? |

Hi,
I am referring to Vista 64 bit not Windows 7. Does anyone actually have a HD-PVR working in Vista 64 bit? Thanks, David |

I am running 1.5.6.0 on 2 HDPVRs in Vista x64 and they are both working. I've previously had issues with many of the HDPVR drivers but these seem to work for me. Now for some reason I have it in my head that I installed the drivers from Windows Update. I can't remember for sure.

I have Vista x64 and one HDPVR (d2 rev). I was planning to install the latest drivers from the Haup site...but Vista found hardware and installed drivers automatically....and it has been rock solid. Not a single lockup in about 4 months. I was expecting much worse. All tv watching is done via hd100 extenders.

I have no idea WTF happened to my setup as it was working great and then about a week ago my HDPVR stopped recording in Sage and TME. I cursed, I swore, I updated drivers, I re-installed software, I tried out Win 7, I even bought a new one and in the end all I had to do was switch from Optical to Analog audio and its working great again, minus the downgrade in audio quality of course. I still haven't figured out what happened or how to get the 5.1 working again, but if your using 5.1 try switching to Analog and see if you can at least make some progress. -Striker- |
