EPG "no data"

OK, so I went ahead and bought the software & service. The PVR 250 card sits in a PC with a fresh installation of Windows XP SP1. I have the latest java runtime and the Hauppauge software on it.

During setup, the channel lineup download works OK. However the EPG has "no data". Internet connection is up and running. The PC is connected via Wireless to a D-Link NAT router.

I had the card in another PC for testing behind the same router, where the EPG worked without problems.

I deleted the wiz* and config files as mentioned in another thread. Didn't help.

Is there any way to force an EPG update?

Thanks
Martin

You can go to the setup wizard and modify a source. While your in the channel lineup, deselect and select a channel. Complete setup. That will force a new update.

That also works by just going into Channel Setup directly, no need to go through the whole Setup Wizard.

OK thanks that makes testing a lot easier.

I ran a netmon sniff with the update, it downloaded 68kb of data from admin.freytechnologies.com. There was no error message. The system information screen now shows next epg update in 23:59

no data...

Does your entire EPG say 'no data'?

yes

Yes I think so. I did not scroll down the entire list but all information onscreen in the guide was no data.

I've checked the server and its got you logged as fully updated with a fully populated DB. Something's weird. Can you email your Sage.properties and Wiz.bin files to support@freytechnologies.com so I can see what's going on?

Thanks,

Doh!

The system clock was set to 2002.... It's a new box, I had not bothered to set the time, but apparently neither the windows time service nor sagetv did set it.

thinking about that, there's probably a safeguard which blocks the time adjustment if the delta is too large.

Sorry - ten leashes for me!

ku71> The system clock was set to 2002....

SageTV has an option to sync the clock with the Sage Server each time it updates the EPG. Don't know if this would be acceptable to you but it would have apparently saved you this recent frustration :-)

This function is active (I double checked!) , and it did not sync the time.

I'd speculate if the time of a time source is so far off, it just ignores it.

Thanks

If it's over an hour it doesn't do it.
