SageTV interface freezing when it loses focus?

If SageTV is playing a tv and it loses focus, the UI will become unresponsive. When I click on the window again, it will continue playing video, but the UI won't pop up. If I click on it enough time, I get the "sagetv is not responding error" from windows and the window turns white, but the sound keeps playing. If I hit "wait for the program to respond," the sound will continue playing forever.

This keeps cropping up for me across different installations of Windows. Happened in Vista, then two reinstallations of Windows 7. The error log and debug console look clean. Has anyone seen something like this before?

Radeon 4850
HDPVR
Using EVR and CoreAVC

edit: I just installed the new native recording patch. If I use the Windows 7 decoder instead of CoreAVC it stops locking up. I just reinstalled CoreAVC but that didn't fix it. Weird.

I just opened up SageTV, and I had to the setup wizard over again. Weird. On top of that, the freezing problem went away. Even weirder?
