TVersity Pro -- Free Download -- Streaming service similar to PlayOn

Now I do not work for Tversity nor have I every tried their product but thought this would be something good to share with the SageTV community.

Original link where I read about this offer

Currently TVersity is doing a promo where they are allowing users to download their TVersity Pro for free unlicensed BUT no expiration. If they every change this policy they will send you a key via email. It seems like buying a license is optional if you want to be in good conscience. Just put in your email and click 'Download'.

TVersity is a streaming service that allows streaming of internet media such as Hulu and YouTube for Xbox360, PS3, Wii, mobile devices, and more. It also streams media from your computer over your network to your media devices (xbox, ps3, wii, etc). It is alot like PlayOn but its FREE

The difference between Pro and the normal is the pro can stream internet media such as Hulu, YouTube, Sling, etc. I believe.

Here is the link: TVersity Pro [tversity.com]

Hey JetreL,

Thanks for the information! Just for grins I downloaded and installed it. The server would not start up. So, I uninstalled it. It also came with its own bloatware.

Let me know if anyone gets this to work. I installed it on a Windows XP system that is only 2.6 Ghz, not the minimum 2.8 Ghz it mentioned as minimum on their site.

Joe.

well that sucks.. I was hoping it had promise. I did post where PlayOn was on sale for $19.99 today as well. To bad PlayOn is just to slow for me to want to actively use... *sigh*

TVersity installed and runs fine on my WHS system which already has SageTV, PlayOn and Orb installed. My interest in TVersity was to see if it can stream hulu contents to iPhone but doesn't look like it. It also doesn't convert and stream media files "On the fly" to iphone like Orb.
