Missing QAM Channels with HVR-2250

I am running SageTV 6.6.2 with a Hauppauge HVR-2250 on Windows XP SP3, and I am trying to solve one final problem with this setup. When setting up the Video Sources for the 2250, a channel scan for the digital tuner finds most of the many channels that my cable provider (Comcast) is currently broadcasting in the clear. However, there are about 10 channels that I know are available that SageTV does not find. I can tune these channels on a TV with a QAM tuner, and the Hauppauge WinTV application finds all of them.

I have looked in the FRQ file generated by the channel scan, and there are no entries for the missing channels. I have tried adding these channels to the FRQ file, and I thought I had gotten lucky, but now, for some reason, the channels I added manually tune to the wrong stations.

As an example, ESPN is available on QAM channel 81-109 on my provider. I added the following line to the FRQ file (note that there was no pre-exisiting 81-0-1 channel, and I chose major:0 and minor:1 basically at random):

CH:161 major:0 minor:1 prog:109 phy:81 frq:565250000 mod:11 inv:0 #:ESPN

Channel 81-0-1 is mapped to logical channel 42, but when I choose channel 42, SageTV tunes an NBC channel, which is 81-101, which Sage put on 81-4-11. Other channels that I have tried to add manually also tune to the wrong stations, always on the same physical channel, but incorrect major/minor/subchannel.

I cannot tell from my searches of the forum if there is a way to get Sage to find those missing channels, or a way to add them manually. I don't understand why the WinTV application finds them and SageTV does not. I'm afraid that the major and minor channels that I have randomly chosen are wrong, but I cannot decipher how Sage determines and assigns those values, since both WinTV and my TV with a QAM tuner use the 81-109 format.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

You can manually add the stations in Channel Setup. Highlight the Logical (Guide) channel you want to assign a QAM station to, move to the right and select Remap this Channel. Then select the Physical Channel and just type in the QAM channel you want it to use. You can then perform a preview right there to make sure you're getting the right station.
