Will this work with Tversity if the the online feed files are modified to point to a Tversity UPNP server instead of Playon?

don't see why not as long as sage can play it and since you specify the device when you set up the custom feed.

just use the upnp inspector to navigate tversity so you understand the structure.

Cutting out early still?

Shouldn't be too bad though, it looks like its just off by the duration of the commercial breaks that played during the show. I can easily estimate that and compensate. I'll try and drop a fix tomorrow.
Hey EP, Awesome-Awesome addition! Did you ever get a chance to fix the early drop out in Hulu? We're catching up on 'Lost' and keep missing the cliff hangers at the end. ;-)

BTW, Thank You and everyone else invloved for this, after getting it in place I'm now bordering on complete satidfaction (read: no need to tweak) with Sage. Well, at least until we get queue mgmt and browsing on-line media feeds in play... Oh, and I need to get streams out to my new tweak toy, the Palm Pre!!! And...

If TVersity gives out m3u files instead of mpg files it may be an issue.

I've only played around with it a little, but I'm seeing .flv listed in some of the feeds I've added. You can also force it to transcode to Windows Media 7,8,or 9 and MPEG-4. Will the HD200 do any of these? I'm getting errors in playback in standalone mode ...

BTW, Tversity Pro has an unlimited trial. You only pay when you see it's worth paying for.

hrrmmf.. I'm really not trying to hijack.

FYI, the latest beta STV will probably break this Plug-in, but its very forgivable because Opus added Podcast subcategories which should make organizing the videos much easier on me.

Hold off until Sat or Sun and i'll crank out a new version that works with the STV and has all the bug fixes people have talked about in the thread.

Thanks so much EP for your awesome work on this...and your continued support and enhancements

I have been using this on multiple HD100 for a few weeks now...and it is just great. I added several Playon plugins (foodtv, hgtv, spike, mtv, etc)....and they all work perfectly with this as well.

It has been so cool to bounce over to "Internet" instead of "TV" to watch many other shows!

EP

Will this update do anything for my issue where large flv files give a Java timeout error? In other words the flv do not seem to want to stream until they are completely or mostly buffered.
I want to know if I should keep meesing with it or you found something.
Thanks,

Should this line in Sageproperties have anything on it to make this work?

media_player_plugin_class/flv=

Also, what does this line do?

online_video/update/wait_time=86400000

I honestly have no idea why you're thing isn't working. The best advice I could give would be if you have a spare computer give it a fresh copy of Sage/PlayON and see if that works.

No problem. I really appreciate your help.

I did/do have this running when playon is loaded on my wife's PC. I just have the horsepower on the Sage PC to run this and would like to keep it off hers if I can. If I can't then i will live with it, but it appears it should be possible so that is why i keep trying things...

Wierd also that it will play the Quicktime and other files wee from the upper online video selections. It will also play very short files from hulu, but longer ones from hulu or any of the networks all time out with a Java error

That's a thought. I think I might have one laying around somewhere.

EP, dude you rock. I just discovered this today, as I haven't visited the customization forum in a while. Now my old HD100 has hulu, awesome.

  1. On your Sage Server, delete the file SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\OnlineVideos\tempFeed.xml
  2. On the HD100, try going into ABC->FlashForward and see if the video list comes up (I'm assuming it won't).
Now go back to SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\OnlineVideos\tempFeed.xml and see if it was recreated. If not, then there's a problem with the import. If it is there (and not empty), go ahead and post it on the thread.

I, personally, haven't tried it on an HD100, but I've gotten reports from many people that said it works without issues.
I did exactly what you said and the temFeed.xml was created but the list is still empty on the HD100. I attached it.

Make sure this line is set to true.

Problem with running UPnP2Podcast.exe

Hi

I am having a problem when running UPnP2Podcast.exe in Sage directory. When I try to start UPnP2Podcast.exe without any arguments from command line I get the following error:

"strict.pm did not return a true value at C:/Perl/lib/Carp/Heavy.pm line 300. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at C:/Perl/lib/Carp/Heavy.pm line 300. Compilation failed at require at -e line 347."

I am running Windows XP SP2.

Do you know what may be causing this problem?

Reagrds,
Michael.

Is there a reason why you're not using the STVI that is available now? You don't have to run upnp2podcast.exe at all. It's all done in the STVI. You just go into Online Videos and watch.

I get this unless the hulu file is small like 150MB. It is almost like to 150MB file can finish buffering before timeout and the larger files cannot.
I have plenty of bandwidth, CPU and disk space.
TIA
@HuMan321,

I'm having the exact same issues that you are and I'm running Sage on a Windows Vista 32-bit system. Playing back an HD podcast (Diggnation) works just fine. Short trailer videos from Hulu work as well. I can see the .flv file being created, but it's size doesn't change at all. I tried setting my TEMP and TMP environment variables to a different location thinking that it might be a permissions issue, but that didn't help.

@gplasky,

I've also verified that mplayer/use_for_online_content was set to true.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to try the upnp2podcast.exe to see if that works.

Ken
