I put in a feature request for being able to generate dynamic subcategories which should make using that plug-in possible (also netflix TV shows). I imagine they're pretty busy right now working on their own stuff, but they said they'd look into it.

Yes it is running and UPNPInpector run on the sage server sees it.

I do have 2 network cards in the Sage server, One gigabit to a switch where the playon server is connected and also the line to my firewall and cable modem. The other card in the Sage server is connected only to a 100mb switch with my 2 HD Homerun tuners. The gigabit network is 192.168.1,x and the 100mb network is 10.10.1.x.

I will try disabling the 10.10.1 card once my recordings finish this evening. I am hoping that willfix things as the Sage PC sees the Playon server using the inspector but it appears that the upnp2podcast.exe does not.

Disabling the 10.10.1.x interface and moving the HDHR tuners to the 192.168.1.x interface fixed the problem.

EP,

Still loving this plugin (can we call it that now, since it's officially part of Sage's STV?).

I'm curious about the additions of the South Park and Food Network feeds. Those two are written in completely separate properties files. Are those being added specifically, or is there something in the program that looks for any properties file in the "Online" folder with a certain name format?

I have added a few other plugins to my PlayOn server and I think I could use the South Park or Food Network files and just copy/modify/edit to make similar files for these other PlayOn plugins.... can you (or anyone) give a basic explanation of how this works? Like, for example, an explanation of all of the "parts" that you need to have in order to create a new feed... "you need a file called this, containing lines that say such-and-such, and then a file called that, containing lines that say such-and-such".... maybe even post a "blank" file that we could use where names of folders and subfolders are just replaced with {put folder name from UPnP Inspector here} or {put subfolder name from UPnP Inspector here} or something.... I am afraid that I might create these new files but be missing a "call" from some other file that I don't know about.

On edit - I found it myself but I'll leave the question here for anyone else to reference - the answers are in Opus's sticky post at the very top of this forum about Custom Online feeds!

Actually that question has been asked and answered probably 6 or more times in this multipage thread alone pjpj, just seems once it gets buried nobody reads any of it. Maybe a README.txt file included with the download, linking to Opus sticky might help.

Admittedly, this thread is getting cumbersome - but I didn't know what terms to use in order to search properly. I jumped around on several pages looking for something about it (before posting) and did not find anything relevant. Seems like the bulk of the thread is not "how do I do this or that?" but is troubleshooting with people having one issue or another.

I certainly wouldn't ask anyone to write a "readme" file though - goodness knows, those responsible for this addition to Sage have done enough work already (and it still goes on).

What is the quality of Netflix using this plugin? Is it HD, DVD or something less?
Thanks

It's close to DVD resolution (720 x 480). On a 42" plasma it is very watchable. And your TV may upscale it for you.

Are you talking about Netflix straight through the browser or Netflix via Playon through Sage with this plugin? Netflix through Playon is not quite the same.

Do other people get slight studders while watching Netflix? I seem to get studders frequently (but not in an exact pattern). I have a quad core 2.4ghz machine and a mid speed cable internet connection - so I don't think it is my system specs being to low. All the playon tests come back green (speed and CPU test). Plus all the other Playon material plays perfectly.

Any ideas or is it the same for everyone.

PS - I'm using the HD-100 as my playback machine.

I see this too, but only when I have skipped as far as I can go into the movie, so I think it is more of a buffering issue. If I just let it play, there is never a problem.

  • Southpark Plug-in: If you have Southpark plug-in installed you should see it under Comedy Central. (The videos aren't working for me, but that's an issue with PlayOn plug-in)
  • FoodNetwork Plug-in: If you have FoodNetwork plug-in installed you should see a new menu item for it on the main page.

Keep in mind for them to show up you may need to leave/re-enter the menu.
What is the status of this? Is it ready for Prime Time yet? I am assuming not since it has not been officially released, but I don't see any posts describing what is working or not.

I posted on playon forum and they said it should not do this so I was wondering if it could be something with Sage.
Any thoughts?

My temp file is also filling with these type files ( 1000's) , but they are very small

stv64255.img
stv64254.img

Can these small files be safely deleted manually? Temp file does not appear to clean these up by itself and the list continues to grow.
