So Hulu and stuff use to work ( about 3 weeks ago) I have not done any changes to the system that I remember, but Now I get an error

\windows\temp\onlinevideo64498.flv: Error(-2): Files Selected for playback are no longer on disk

tha was trying to play an episode of better off ted as you sgguested above..

I noticed Play-on stopped and I will send a report to them.

But also Hulu no longer works. could both of these be related?

I verified all is up to date as well

Better off Ted is hosted by Hulu. It's just broken out by it's provider in the menu. I just verified that both are working.

A few things you can try is:
  • Reboot PlayOn
  • Login to Hulu and attempt to play in the browser
  • Check your account setting in PlayOn
  • Reboot server

Good Luck!

I am running PlayOn on WHS too. Here are my suggestions for that:

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...&postcount=863

Sorry don't want to repost same steps in same thread..

Make sure you do step two.

If that doesn't work install firefox and make it your default browser that should work too.

Yeah I had done that originally when it worked..

I did get it working.. I uninstalled PlayOn ( it had been upgraded twice while installed)

the I reinstalled PlayOn.. Video works Great now, Although my Windows 7 Box is more powerful for Playon, atleast I am up and running on WHS again

THANKS

Episode/Movie browsing very slow

Guys, I have a question.

Episode/Movie browsing speed...Does anyone else experience a pregnant pause whenever the episode list is about to be displayed? As an example, when I use a web browser to see the Netflix Instant viewing options, movie choices appear within seconds.

When I use the SageTV plugin, I wait about a minute before movie options appear. While that may seem quick, it makes browsing on a client a bit frustrating and I'm finding myself going back to the browser to access Netflix and Hulu. Just wondering if I have something set wrong.

yep, 15-45 seconds is about my delay time too.

Yeah, I measure it at ~10-15 sec for Hulu and 25-35 sec for Netflix, although your times may vary. It might be possible to shave those times down a bit, but honestly, I think they're pretty reasonable. Heck, sometimes it takes longer to pull up my Sage Recordings list.

Is there not a way to pre-cache the links periodically so that we don't have to download them in real time while we are browsing?

Not really, the links expire after about an hour.

An hour is a period of time.

Fair enough: pre-caching the links is very possible but would require me to make my own custom Online Services menu in Studio which would take days/weeks and increase the complexity of writing/maintaining this plug-in exponentially. Unsurprisingly, I have no desire to do any of those things

You know, now that you say this Tmiranda's version allowed you to create favorites and I believe pre-caching. IIRC, something in the new STV broke his plugin but perhaps it's fixed?? I beta tested the import early on but I've been too busy lately to catch up.

Aspect Ratio

MKanet, I have the same aspect ration with Hulu.
Day 1 of the trial for PlayOn. Installed it and the plugin, everything worked smoothly. Until I watched something. I also had to use the "stretch" option on the TV (Sony Bravia).

Server is directly connected to the TV.
I'm glad the issue has been noted. I would have spent a lot of time trying to figure this out.

I fixed it shortly after the latest STV update came out. It does precache anything you setup as a Favorite.

This works in conjunction with EP's UPnP2Podcast.exe. It replaces the stock "Online Services" menu with a menu that uses the malore (2-pane) display style.

It says "Beta 1.2" because I do not have Netflix or Amazon VOD and have not tested those features very much. Everything else should work as advertized.

Then, once you're sure you have no PlayON plug-ins installed, try this.

1) Start up PlayOn
2) Try and play an episode of "Online Services->ABC->Better Off Ted"
3) Once you notice PlayOn crashed, use their tool and submit a bug.

That'll automatically send them all the logs they should need to fix the problem or point you towards what on your system is causing the problem.
Thanks to everyone for the guidance. Fortunately I don't have any PlayOn plugins, but I'll do the bug reporting thing and see what happens. Thanks for saving me from myself.

Bill..

I assume you tried this, but I was having the SAME issue as you, although mine did work, then had the issues you are seeing.

If you have a second PC, install Playon on the second machine to seeif the same thing happens, I did this and it worked fine.

Then I uninstalled playon from the original location. I then Reinstalled playon back on the original machine (in my case WHS) and turned off playon on the second machine i used for verification.

When I went in VIA Sage everything worked and I was able to stream shows.

Hope that might help and I hope it makes sense
