Does anyone have the steps on how to breakdown the feeds

Check out this thread for all the information you need. You use the UPNP inspector program to view the actual feed data, and then modify the feed scripts with that information. Of course it isn't that easy in reality.. If you are successful in adding new feeds, be sure to share them and EvilPenguin will generally update his feeds and update everyone's scripts automatically. So you efforts will help the entire community.

Exclamation New Version of Playon changes Hulu feed structure!

EP,

It looks like Playon fixed some of the Netflix problems that people have mentioned BUT they also "fixed" Hulu for PS3 which changes the directory structure on us. EP any way you could work your magic?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 2.59.3760
Released 17 April 2010

Features and Changes
Fixed Netflix videos from stopping after a few seconds.
Fixed "Hulu freeze" issue that affected people with specific sound card devices.
Rearranged Hulu folder structure to avoid deep browsing crashes when game discs are in the PS3.
Supporting YouTube videos with advertisements.
Added "Current Season" view for MLB.
Minor cosmetic fixes in PlayOn Settings.
Known Issues
My Media (Beta) currently supports limited audio and video codecs.
iTunes M4A music files won't play correctly to Xbox 360.
Wii interface not optimized for SDTV's (4:3).
TVs with overscan may crop video borders.
YouTube subscriptions and playlists are limited to 50 videos.

Yep - I'm seeing this too... Using UPNP Inspector, I'm not seeing the TV and Full Episodes branches... Instead, just "TV Shows", followed by the letters.

If I do the default Hulu query for the TV Show Psych:

UPnP2Podcast.exe "PlayOn:Hulu:TV:Full Episodes:P:^Psych$:Episodes:+2"

I get no videos...

If I do this query, I do get videos:

UPnP2Podcast.exe "PlayOn:Hulu:TV Shows:P:^Psych$:Episodes:+2"

So, it looks like if you do a global search and replace in your Hulu properties file for :TV:Full Episodes: and replace it with :TV Shows:, it might fix it for the majority of shows... Until the feed can get updated.

Ptaylor,

I see what you are talking about. One correction though, the new feed is actually:

PlayOn:Hulu:TV:Full Episodes:P:^Psych$:Full Episodes:+2

Although both Episodes and Full Episodes worked for me when querying with Upnp2podcast alone.

With that being said, I couldn't get it to work anyway in Sage. For some reason when I query Upnp2podcast.exe "PlayOn:Hulu:TV Shows:H:^House Hunters$:Full Episodes:+2" I get episodes but when I changed the properties file, I get no shows. I must be doing something wrong but in this case the name of the feed changed from House.Hunters to House Hunters as well so some it's not just the structure but maybe some of the shows had some changes to their names.

I just did the global search/replace in the Hulu properties file for :TV:Full Episodes: and replaced it with :TV Shows: and everything seems to be working fine. I just looked up House Hunters, and some other HGTV stuff, and I see episodes just fine via the SageTV GUI.

Before this change, the only shows I could see in SageTV under Hulu were in my User Queue, but since making this change, every other show I've tried has worked just fine.

Oh - And the "House Hunters" vs "House.Hunters", I think that has something to do with a regular expression.. (I want to say that's a wildcard? But I'm not sure) Like in ^Psych$, I believe the ^ means it starts the name, and $ means it ends, so ^Psych$ would only match the string "Psych", and not "Psychic Pet Detective".

Aha - That's probably why "Episodes" works just fine at the end, because it matches "Full Episodes".

I don't get it, I made the same search and replacement, saved and restarted my PC. For some reason, my sage searches are still looking for the old string. Am I supposed to change more than CustomOnlineVideoLinks_UPnP2Podcast_Hulu.properties?

+ Search String: PlayOn:Hulu:TV:Full Episodes:P:^Psych$:Episodes:+2

Ducktales, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, Talespin, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, iCarly, Drake & Josh, and some others. The content is scraped by various LUA scripts that run under the Scripts Plugin for PlayOn. This content comes from various sources, most of which have fairly low to poor quality video feeds...so most (if not all) will look horrible on HD sets but should be more than tolerable (for kids anyway) on SD sets.

Assuming you already have PlayOn and UPnP2Podcast installed and working, go to the playonplugins.com forum (you'll need to create an account to be able to download attachments from their forum) and download the Scripts Plugin. Scripts Plugin .0.4.0.3 is the minimum version required, so if you have an older version already installed then you'll need to update it. I haven't tested the scripts with the recently released Scripts Plugin .0.5.0.0, but there shouldn't be any problems.

Once the Scripts Plugin is installed, download the attached 'LUA Scripts.zip' file and extract the Ducktales, Chip and Dale, Talespin, ToonJet, and Nickelodeon LUA scripts to the MediaMall\plugins\scripts folder. Then restart the MediaMallServer service. Finally, download the attached 'Custom Online Properties.zip' file and extract the Ducktales, Chip and Dale, Talespin, ToonJet, and Nickelodeon properties files to the SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\OnlineVideos folder. That should be it. You should now have a Cartoons and Nickelodeon category listed in the Online Services menu.

Credits go to mopenstein on the playonplugins.com forum for creating the original LUA scripts. I made some mods to the scripts so they would work better with UPnP2Podcast and display better in SageTV. The modified scripts are attached to this post and, for easy reference, the orginal unmodified scripts can be found at the following locations:

Ducktales, Chip and Dale RR, Talespin: HERE
ToonJet: HERE
Nickelodeon: HERE

Known issue: "The video list is downloading." message takes a long time (3 to 4 minutes, maybe longer, depending on your Internet speed) for Ducktales, Chip and Dale RR, and Talespin. The long delay is the result of the episodes being scraped from YouTube. Each episode is broken in to two or three parts so 50-80 episodes means anywhere from 100 to 240 YouTube web pages must be scraped to generate a video list for SageTV Each cartoon LUA script could probably be broken down into smaller scripts and additional subcategories could be created to speed up video list generation process. And I think the new .0.5.0.0 Scripts Plugin adds URL caching that might also help if someone else wants to take a stab at it.
Thanks for the work you've done on this. Nickelodeon will be great. I've followed your procedure and the Cartoons work great. However, I can't Sage to find any Nickelodeon videos. I've tried all the series and after the video list downloads, I get "No videos found". Any thoughts on what's going on here.

Thanks,
Jeff

EP,

Something's going on with my Online files, now they aren't updating when I run Upnp2podcast.exe.

Also, before when I modified the file to the new Hulu directories, Sage seemed to be looking for the old locations which doesn't make sense.

Here is my log:

Edit: OK, false alarm, it updated to today's file and after a complete Sagetv shutdown, everything seems to be in order!

Users of this great addition may also be interested in this STVi. It's useful for cleaning up items that Sage sometimes leaves behind.

no menus?!?

i had this plugin working on my other win7 machine but the motherboard died so I've reverted back to an xp machine until the other mobo is replaced. I can't seem to get the plugin to communicate with playon.I followed the installation steps top the tee. I disabled the firewall and unistalled the virus scanner. still no communication. The playon server is definitely running. using upnp inspector I can browse the media server and it has all the feeds listed, my instant queue on netflix and so on. In online services in Sagetv the top level folders are there, youtube, hulu, netflix and so on but when any one of those are selected the folder is empty. I started to look through this thread to try and find answers but about 20 pages in I realized I'll just have to take the grief for asking for help...this thread is huge! Any ideas?

Awesome Tom, another quality import to make our lives easier.

Does this import perform the same cleanup as your excellent Malore Style Online Browser or is does this one execute additional cleanup?

Folks, you really must try out this "Browser", it adds cool new ways to manage your favorite online feeds and there's additional functionality that makes this a real gem.

It performs the same as the Malore Online Browser WILL once I officially release the next version. What you have is not officially released. (So don't install the STVi with what you have.)

Try loading up ABC->Better Off Ted and sending me that log. It looks like it sees the PlayON server fine, but you just got caught in the middle of the PlayON software update that temporarily broke this plug-in. From the log, I'm guessing it'll work this time.

Just tried to watch a netflix movie tonight and the show got about 58 minutes thru and the audio and video quit, but my ethernet switch looked like it was still passing data and the green light on the hd2oo was still flashing and I could not get the picture and audio to come back on. I then restarted the clip from the begining and fast forwarded to close to that area and started watching it normally and again at just past the point it done it the first time it done it again. I have watched a few movies all the way thru and I have had several do this same thing. I thought I would post here first and if any one had any ideas and if not I may post over on the playon forums.
Thanks for any ideas or help
Wayne
