Loopback
I searched on "loopback" and I didn't see any threads that describe how to do it properly. I want to use loopback to display webcams and or IP cameras. I tried playing around with the webfeedencoder but so far it has not worked properly. Currently my Sage server has a PCI (normal old PCI - not PCI express) based ATI 9600 card. But I have bought a cheap PCI express HD3450 card and I have an extra PVR-150 card that I will have room for once I change video cards.
This 4350 video card has an svideo out - I presume that I can just plug this into the svideo input of the spare PVR-150 card that I have - correct? If I want audio I guess I will have to plug the audio outputs from my PC into the audio in of my PVR-150, correct?
I guess I will have to play around to see whether this video output is always my main display or whether I can change it to the secondary display.
What do you enter when you are setting up the source - what do you enter as your provider in lieu of a cable lineup? How will this "channel" show up in the guide? Can you manually put something that will always show up in the guide like "Home Webcam"? I presume I can remap the channel to something that is not currently used and easy to remember, like channel 1.
I guess it is too much to ask to be able to control the server from my extenders, isn't it? Assuming this works I would like to arrange several web/ip cams on the screen and send this to the loopbacked tuner.
