Tuning Delay

I am using a 4DTV receiver interfaced with the R5000 USB board. Once SageTV issues the tuning instructions, it can take up to 60 seconds for the dish to move into position and several seconds after that for the data stream to start. Unfortunately, during this time, SageTV times out and issues the tuning instructions again, causing the R5000 software to repeat the operation. I tried to increase the SagetV timeout time with the following line in sageTV.properties:

mmc/encoders/12346/delay_to_wait_after_tuning=65000.

When SageTV boots up, it changes the 65 seconds I set to 4 seconds:

mmc/encoders/12346/delay_to_wait_after_tuning=4000.

Apparently I've exceeded the maximum time allowed. Is there anything else I might do to achieve the necessary delay?

hmmm.. have you checked to make sure that the service is shut down prior to editing the properties file? just easy check. Other than that, if 4000 is a limit, it seems it will need to be increased. Other than that.. get bigger motors for the dish mover.. ;-) Have you filed a bug report with sage or contacted support? It's probably just an overlook, since really there aren't many people using big dishes anymore, and even fewer using them with sage.. fewer than that using them with sage through an r-5000... you get my drift...
