Another Lan upgrade question
Currently my Lan consists of a Dlink di604 2 generic 10/100 switches and a belkin 802.11G router configured as a wireless access point. I am going to upgrade to a gigabit network. It looks as though from my research it is important to get managed switches so I am looking at 2 ProCurve 1700-8's. To replace the belkin wireless router/AP seems a little more difficult. I want to be able to configure the port/ports to be not auto sensing. I am looking at the D-Link DAP-1522, how do I figure out if I can configure the ports on this AP. If you have a better suggestion, I am open to suggestions. The important part to me is gigbit ports, wireless (g or n does not matter) and be able to configure the ports to not be auto sensing.
The reading I have been doing on this upgrade sounds like autosensing can cause weird issues. Thanks Bill

Auto sensing is fine 99.99999% of the time. What makes you think it's not?
Why do you think you need a managed switch? Will use any of the management features? Probably not is my guess. |
