Well the best way to do it is with a supported PlayOn device like an Xbox/Wii/HD200 in standalone mode. But just seeing the videos in UPnPInspector is a pretty good indication that things are working.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but it appears the Justin.tv script has broken. Possibly a change to the Justin.tv web site causing the video requests to fail. I'm getting timeout errors when trying to load the Justin.tv videos, but other scripts and plugins appear to still be working.

It might as well stay broke...looks like Justin.tv is policing their content MUCH more actively and taking down stuff like live sports feeds and other obviously copyrighted content. Seems like all of tonight's Monday Night Football feeds on Justin.tv were taken down within minutes of going up. Oh well. I'll keep an eye on the playonplugins.com and playonscripts.com web sites for updates.

Jason,
I saw that last night as well. Some of the MNF feeds were working, but gave timeout errors. Some worked for a while and then went away. Some I was able to access sporadically throughout the evening (failed early, worked later, then failed again). However, less, uh, "desirable" (?) sites like the Weather Channel seemed to be working just fine through justin.tv.

Regarding the Justin.tv script...looks like it's broke and it may not be fixable. Posted by mopenstein on playonplugins.com message board:

Justin.tv added a authentication check and broke the script. There may not be a work around for this

No updates at this time. Do you have any requests for playonplugins.com or playonscripts.com scripts to be added to the list? I'll have some time over the holiday break to look into adding some new scripts and removing the broken justin.tv stuff.

Hi not sure if it would be posible but I would really like a BBC iPlayer script. There is a plugin for PlayOn that sort of works but can't get it to show up on my extender. Not even sure if it is a script I need. Going to do somemore reading up on this script and plugin stuff.

I don't know what exactly you are looking for, but most true video podcasts worked before the PlayOn plug-in, just in the default "Online Services" functionality. The original "custom online services" properties file contains instructions on how to add feeds for podcasts. They require a couple of lines of text (just copy another existing line and change the appropriate stuff), and that's it... no reference to PlayOn at all. Check the sticky at the top of the forum page from Opus, too.

I took a look at these, without much success. It's going to take a bit of time to get the .properties files done for these because there is so much content to categorize in each one. The ExerciesTV script may have broken over the last day or two as well, due to some ExerciseTV web site changes...I'll have to look into that some more too.

I wish I had a vb script or program that could crawl the PlayOn Server folder structure and generate the .properties files programatically. It would make adding scripts and plugins much easier and quicker. If I can find more time over the New Years break, I'll dust off my Perl skills and take a look at evilpenguins upnp2podcast source code and see if I can adapt it to be a .properties file generator.

I took a look at these and was able to get Christmas Videos and Playhouse Disney working. Nick Toons is broken, but I was able to get Nick Jr to work.

Cartoon Network is a mess. It has lots of very short clips that aren't very worthwhile, but it does have some full episodes for many of the cartoons. But there is still lots of content that has to be categorized that will take a bit of time to do. Adult Swim also has a lot of content that has to be categorized. If I had a way to programatically generate .properties files, it would be a trivial task. Without a tool to help generate the .properties files, it could take serval hours of flipping back and forth between UPnP Inspector and two notepad windows with the SageTV Online Videos .properties files, and a lot of cutting, pasting, and tweaking.

UPDATE 2 (12/27/09):
The PlayOnScripts.zip and OnlineServices.zip have been updated with the following updates and additions... The Justin.TV script is permanently broken, so it has been removed along with the channelsurfing.net scraper. I have added Playhouse Disney, Nick Jr, and Christmas Videos scripts and their accompanying OnlineVideos .properties files. If you haven't made any modifications to the previously provided scripts or .properties files, then simply unzip the PlayOnScripts.zip to the Program Files\MediaMall\Plugins\Scripts directory and unzip the OnlineServices.zip to the Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\OnlineVideos directory. If you have made any modifications to previously provided files, unzip the 3 newest script files from PlayOnScripts.zip and the 6 newest .properties files from OnlineVideos.zip to their respective directories and you should be good to go. If you aren't running the latest version of the Scripts Plugin, install that now from here. After unziping the updated .zip file attachments from the first post and after updating your Scripts Plugin, you'll need to stop and start the MediaMallServer service.

The files in the first post of this message thread have been updated with these changes. Go back to the first post and download the PlayOnScripts.zip and OnlineServices.zip to update your scripts and .properties files.

Jason,

I think EvilPenguin has this already and uses it to make the .properties files for his PlayOn STVi. Maybe you could collaborate with him.

Thank you very much!!! I'll download the new scripts and test them out.

Update: All new scripts work perfect. Thank you especially for the Playhouse Disney. Now I don't have to use my laptop for the kids to watch the disney shows.
