I hate VC1.
Might be helpful to post your setup, at least OS and hardware, video card.
I have noticed the k-lite codec pack does'n recommend you use the ffdshow vc1 decoder so it probably sucks. Do you not have access to the Arcsoft or Cyberlink codecs.

Does it play in something else?
What the audio. I have always had a problem with True-HD in Sage. Downgrade it to DTS in tsMuxer and it works fine.

Try to disable the dvxa if you have a decent cpu.

yes the films with that codec plays in mediaportal, meedios, meedio and mpc hc with the mpc video decoder so any ideas has to why sagetv dont play it (i have vista ati 4550 )i have TMT 3 installed sagetv wont see there vc1 codec or video codec and have tryed cyberlink and there dont let you use there vc1 codec surly a htpc program like sagetv should play these codecs wheather its in m2ts or mkv format. Am i the only one that has vc1 in hd films to play in sagetv?

help please

just tried windows media player vc1 content works (m2ts mkv) so looks like i have answered my own question does sagetv play all files and containers eg m2ts with vc1,h264, looks like only h264 can be played in sagetv so to me it's well below par software for a modern htpc that u can rip your own collection of BD to hard drive

VC1's work fine for me, but I'm using the Windows 7 drivers with the native patch. (see beta area of the forums)

The MPC-HC decoder doesn't really support VC-1, and that probably the root cause.

This filter only accepts WVC1 which is pretty much the same thing, presented differently (it uses different media types and sends the samples differently) but incompatible with VC-1.

Assuming the files you want to play are m2ts and you're using Vista (or haven't updated to the "native patch") you can install the MPC-HC mpeg2 splitter (included in AntiPack) and give it a priority which trumps the other m2ts splitters on your box.

If you're using the native patch, then the sage demuxer will be used for m2ts files and will only connect to a filter that supports VC-1. If you don't care about HWA (i.e. DXVA2) or can figure out how to make the TMT filter support it, you should be able to regsvr32 asvid.ax (I think this is the ArcSoft video decoder's name) and it will enable playback. I've asked Qian (donkey) to add WVC1 support to the demuxer so it may happen at some point; that said if this is something you value, it couldn't hurt for more people to make the same request.

The other option is to remux the m2ts into mkv and use the Haali splitter which also presents WVC1 and then use the MPC-HC filter or the WMV DMO included w/ Windows.
