Unhappy Video Lockup when playing stored dvd rips

Hi I’m new to sage and ripping DVD’s for that matter. I’ve been ripping some of my sons DVD to hard disk with smart ripper 2.41 they play back fine in media player after renaming them .mpg but when I try to play them back in sage they will run for a few seconds and then just stop... if I rewind the DVD and start the play over then it will play through.

Has any one else encountered this problem with the .15 release? Is this a known issue...?

I’m using the Sonic Cinemaster @ DS Video Decoder
I’ve also tried the InterVideo Video Decoder
And the NonCSS video Decoder for Hauppauge by InterVideo

im using Smart ripper 2.41 to do the video rips.

I’ve tried compressing the videos to avi with divx but the quality was horrid.

I’ve also noticed that the playback times will report wrong as entire movies will report as being 1-10 min long is this issue with sage or is it an issue with the way im ripping my DVD’s?

Any help would be appreciated...

Thomas Sexton

As long as you don't use crazy compression, you should be able to make an exact duplicate of a DVD to MPEG4. You can even retain the AC3 audio if you like. www.doom9.org has some great info and instructions on how to use the best (though not always the easiest) tools.

I watch movies as Divx so I can't help with ripped DVD playback problem though.
