Live TV Choppy in Windows 7
I can't figure out why, but about half the time I watch live TV, the video is choppy. Sometimes it helps if I pause it for a couple of seconds. It doesn't help every time though. Has anyone experienced this or happen to know any steps I could take to resolve this problem? Thanks in advance.

are you viewing this on the sage server machine or on a separate client, I found that whenever i would try to watch a live show on my sage server machine it would stutter constantly and then my recording would end up with a stutter in the same area, i guess my system couldn't handle running the client software, sage server software and comskip at the same time and my sage server is running on a Pentium dual core 2.5ghz processor with 4gb of ram. I recently bought an hd200 and I no longer have that problem, I like the hd200 so much that I am considering purchasing an additional unit, although I have to admit that I am waiting to see if there are any announcements as to when the next version may be out, but I may bite the bullet early next year if there is no news.

List your server specs. Video cards play a big part on this issue, too.

It's not on a server. I just have it on my home PC. I am using Windows 7 64bit, 2GB of ram, nVidia 8600GT video card, hd-pvr.

Sometimes going from full screen to windowed mode, and then back, throws a wrench into playback...causes it to stutter. Shutting down the UI and restarting usually fixes it. I've seen it with all decoders, so I don't know what the cause is.

I agree with Spirix, you shouldn't use just the one computer, you should use a HD-200. If you run the computer 'headless' with HD-200 extenders, your system will function much better.
You also need to make sure your video storage is formatted with 64k blocks. Dave |

As mentioned previously, make sure you hard drive paritions is formated to 64k clusters and defragemented.
Also, which codec are you using for playback of the recordings? What is your CPU usage during playback?

I figured out what the problem was and fixed it. I changed my Video Render settings to EVR and it's working great so far.
