Is this a placeshifter or a remote only? Too expensive for me until it gets some reviews...

The wiki has more images of what it does, and the video streaming is done through jreichen's iOS streaming plugin.

I just bought it (After all it would be rude not to since I said I'd pay $30!!!).

Will test later when I get home and write up my experiences...

You might want to wait until version 1.01 gets available, as some issues have been found between the initial submission and the approval. Such as not being able to schedule a recording from the TV guide, and on the iPad more of those commands crashing. Anyway, the discussion should probably be moved to the TiSageTV thread.

What makes this more unique than other tools of the sort is that it has a social aspect - share media with friends. The tool actually creates a P2P network between your box and anyone connected to it - cannot download or alter content, just play media. Very interesting.... They also advertise that video is delivered in HD quality, same as source. I've used it mostly on my phone, and not on a browser, so I'm not surea bout that. I also didn't have to configure anything to get it working and streaming - the only downside is that it lacks any configuration options really, like assigning port numbers, etc. Certainly work a try.

"UPDATE: Libox is apparently shutting down. We didn’t realize this because it still functions. SO, if you don’t already have a Libox account you should skip to the alternatives section where you’ll find information about Opera Unite, which does many of the same things as Libox (along with some additional features)"

just a bump here...started reading this thread this morning and got to the end and noticed that last post was back in May. I'm looking at getting a tablet (ipad or android, not too sure yet) and would definitely get an app to control/watch my sage on.

Does this app just control sage on my tv or can you actually watch sage (livetv, videos, music, pics, etc.) through it?

There is no "true" Placeshifter app but there is a very close facsimile. Fonceur has released TiSageTV (iPad/iPhone) and TaSageTV (Android).

The mobile web browser also allows you to stream content to iDevices and perhaps others.

There is an iPad app called AirVideo that does a very good job streaming back files on your server over the LAN or internet but it doesn't have any Sage functionality.

The mobile web server, TiSageTV and TaSageTV can all do it.

Thanks to the iOS streaming plugin, the mobile web server and TiSageTV can do the Apple HTTP Live streaming of recordings properly, with TiSageTV doing it for Videos too. But music streaming is not supported.

You can see the photos with TiSageTV and TaSageTV.

For TaSageTV, it's a lot more dependent on the hardware/software/bandwidth combo that you have. With VLC it is possible to stream music or recordings/video. The HTTP Live streaming kinda work on some devices, with or without the Mirage beta media player...

You can see demo videos or screenshots of TaSageTV and TiSageTV by following the links in my signature and checking out the wiki...
