Additional Airings sort order

I'm not sure if this has been addressed here. I did a search and couldn't turn anything up.

Wouldn't it make sense to sort the Additional Airings screen by date/time? I have this screen up right now for a Favorites show and the episodes seem to be listed in no particular order.

Here's what I'm seeing:

1. Wed 4/21 11:00 PM Fav & Manual
2. Thu 4/22 2:00 AM Fav
3. Mon 4/19 11:00 PM Fav
4. Tue 4/20 2:00 AM Fav & Manual
5. Sun 4/18 11:00 PM Fav
6. Mon 4/19 2:00 AM Fav & Manual
7. Tue 4/20 11:00 PM Fav & Manual
8. Wed 4/21 2:00 AM Fav & Manual
9. Thu 4/22 11:00 PM Fav & Manual
10. Fri 4/23 2:00 AM Fav
11. Sun 4/25 11:00 PM Fav & Manual
12. Mon 4/26 2:00 AM Fav
13. Mon 4/26 11:00 PM Fav & Manual
14. Tue 4/27 2:00 AM Fav
15. Tue 4/27 11:00 PM Fav & Manual
16. Wed 4/28 2:00 AM Fav

That sort order doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. Perhaps someone else can shed some light as to the logic in it?

Note that I got to this screen by clicking on one of the manual recordings in my Upcoming Recording Schedule and choosing Additional Airings from there. When I go to Additional Airings from the Favorites Manager, the episodes are displayed in the correct chronological airing order.

And although it doesn't pertain to my query, if anyone is wondering why I set manual recordings on things that are already set as favorites, it's so Sage will record that specific airing of the episode. They are aired multiple times, and sometimes I want a particular airing.

I could be wrong, but it looks to me like it is listing the episodes as they come up, then grouping repeats of the same episodes together. Thus: distinct episodes are listed in the order they are to be aired & the ones out of order are the repeats of those episodes. I don't remember it doing that before.

Does that fit what you are seeing?

Even if that were the case, ignoring the repeats, the distinct episodes would still be out of order. The show is Futurama on Adult Swim. Here's the list of episodes as I see it when clicking on Additional Airings from one of my manual recordings on the View Upcoming Recording Schedule screen:

1. Wed 4/21 11:00 PM I Second That Emotion
2. Thu 4/22 2:00 AM I Second That Emotion
3. Mon 4/19 11:00 PM When Aliens Attack
4. Tue 4/20 2:00 AM When Aliens Attack
5. Sun 4/18 11:00 PM Mars University
6. Mon 4/19 2:00 AM Mars University
7. Tue 4/20 11:00 PM Fry and the Slurm Factory
8. Wed 4/21 2:00 AM Fry and the Slurm Factory
9. Thu 4/22 11:00 PM Brannigan, Begin Again
10. Fri 4/23 2:00 AM Brannigan, Begin Again
11. Sun 4/25 11:00 PM A Head in the Polls
12. Mon 4/26 2:00 AM A Head in the Polls
13. Mon 4/26 11:00 PM Xmas Story
14. Tue 4/27 2:00 AM Xmas Story
15. Tue 4/27 11:00 PM Why Must I Be a Crustacean in Love?
16. Wed 4/28 2:00 AM Why Must I Be a Crustacean in Love?

So as you can see, for the most part, they're in correct order. But those first few groups aren't. And just for reference, the airing that I clicked on to bring up that Additional Airings list was the one listed as #6.

Look at them in more detail... they seem to be in order of their ShowID, except for "Xmas Story"... but then you 'll notice that its original airing date was _after_ the previosu show, though that previous one has a higher ShowID.

This seems new, as I said above. It is interesting to see them all categorized like that, though I'm not yet sure that it is better, since it does make it difficult to see at a glance which one is on _next_.

Oh... wait... I just noticed that your list is ordered differently than my list. I did a search by title to get my list -- which showed "Mars University" first.

Strange... since I have no idea what it is _supposed_ to be doing, I have no idea if it is working correctly. Hmmm... File a bug report & ask?

I filed a bug report with a reference to this message board thread, so we'll see if we get a post here from one of the big kahunas. My guess is that this particular screen is just sorted by whatever order the shows happened to fill into the database. They should add an "Options" menu popup to this screen that lets users choose how they'd like to sort the Additional Airings listing.

Nice one. It actually had nothing to do with sorting at all...anyways, its fixed now for the next release.

Thanks Matt.

That's really funny... I kept wondering what new sort order was being implemented for that list, since it seemed clearer when they were previously listed by airing date!
