Newbie needs software advice

Just finished building my first Win7 based HTPC and also received my Hauppauge HD PVR. I have no previous experience with home theater and so I have many questions. I need a media portal that is easy to set up and will allow the whole family to easily navigate. If I purchase a SageTV package how much of the Hauppauge software bundle needs to be loaded other than the driver? Which SageTV gives the user the most flexibility for the money? Thanks in advance for any advice and recommendations offered.

Download and install Sage's trial. That is the best way to find out if you like it. It's a free trial. Also, you may want to head here for some instruction on setting up your HD PVR:
