Can't connect to the server - need help = SOLVED
I've got an HD200 connected via ethernet to my SageTV server. It's worked great for some time. I'm using SageMC and the Serenity theme. Last night I was updating to a different version of the theme when I accidentally turned off the HD200. Now I cannot connect to Sage at all. It stays on the screen that says SageTV HD Theater is starting up. I know the HD Theatre works because I restarted it and skipped connecting to the server, opened up a movie directly and played it with no problems. It just hangs when I try connecting to the server. I even tried restarting the Sage server.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Hi there.
1. Do you have any other hardware extenders? If so, do they work? 2. Also, try downloading and installing SageTV Placeshifter and see if that can connect to your server. 3. Have you tried rebooting your computer? 4. Can your computer access the internet correctly? 5. Do you use SageTV as a service, or as the GUI on your computer? If the latter, does it work correctly? If the former, try starting up the GUI on your computer and see if it works correctly. If you can answer those questions, that would be helpful to try to troubleshoot the issue. |

2-Just downloaded a trial for the placeshifter on my laptop. Works fine. 3-I did reboot the computer and restarted Sage. 4-The computer can access the internet. 5-I mostly use the HDTheatre but do use the GUI on the computer from time to time (it's hooked up to a projector). I tried the GUI and it works fine as well. Thanks for offering to help. I'll try just about anything. This is frustrating.

I'm just completely stuck here. Everything works but the HD200 won't connect to my server. I even tried to reset the HD200 (using the delete button method). That didn't work. This is so frustrating. All because I hit the off button by accident. Could the problem be at the server end in some way?
I could really use some help or suggestions. Thanks.

Connect the laptop to the hd200's ethernet cable and disable wifi, see if placeshifter still works.

Forgive my ignorance on the issue, but where you updating the theme on the HD Theater? Or was this being done on the Sage server and you happened to turn off the HD THeater while the update was doing its thing on the server.
If you were messing with the HD THeater and turned it off during an update, then it isn't surprising that stuff could get messed up. There is a method to reinstall the firmware and I suggest you look into this. If you were messing with the server only, then I would suggest that you try uninstalling and reinstalling Sage. If that doesn't help, then you might need to backup you wiz.bin and nuke the current installation completely (by uninstalling and deleting the SageTV program folder). I could see where it might be possible that turning off an extender during the update process somehow made the server somehow "loose" that extender.

Placeshifter works if I use the HD200's ethernet cable (wifi disabled). Even from the HD200, I'm able to connect directly to the network share that houses my DVDs and play those. I just can't get to SageTV from the HD200.

In case this ever happens to anyone else I thought I'd put the solution on here. Thanks to George for getting back to me via the support page. The solution was actually very simple.
From George: Close SageTV and the service and on the server go to the SageTV/SageTV folder and then delete everything inside of the clients folder.
