Problem with EXEMultiTuner and SageTV Service Mode

I have 2 HD-PVRs working fine with Firewire tuning via EXEMultiTuner running in NON-service mode.

The second I switch to SageTV as a service the channel changing immediately stops. It looks like the plugin is no longer being called.

I tried the SageTV service running as local admin with "enable interact with desktop" enabled.

I also tried it with a administrator local account.

Neither works. Ideas?

Also, it appears that I needed to reinstall SageTV in order to make it work again in NON-server mode?!!

So, am I even close? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think it would work just fine. channelw.exe is just an executable file it is not a service so you should be able to set it up like I have with EXETunerPlugin for my one box. There is no need to interact with the desktop I don't think. Note I'm running in Service Mode with UNC paths. If you are haveing problems maybe you need the 8.3 file path like I entered below. I had problems until I used short path names.

Here is my Registry entry for EXETunerPlugin:
Code:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sage]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sage\EXETunerPlugin]
"command"="c:\\progra~1\\timmmo~1\\mce200~1\\channelw.exe 2 %CHANNEL%"

BobP.
Can anyone confirm that 'short path names' make a difference? (dont know why it would)

Short path names (old style microsoft 8-3) work!

Now my SageTV is back running as a service.
