Wireless Issues: Encore ENUWI-NX2 Adapter Not Detected by HD200

Long time Sage user.

Got an HD200 for the purpose of wireless. Sage store sold out of wireless adapter.

Closest I could find is the ENUWI-NX2 adapter.

Have the latest beta firmware but HD200 doesn't detect the wireless adapter.

The supported product page doesn't list the exact Encore adapter except to list ENUWI-N.

Will the ENUWI-NX2 adapter work?

If not, and looking at the forums there aren't options except for an expensive Dlink adapter, then my old HD100 will be back in service.

Just pointing out that the question wasn't really answered. Newegg sells the ENCORE ENUWI-N3 adapter for under $10. That ought to work shouldn't it? Is there a difference between the N and the N3?

No.

Yes. One works and one doesn't. If there wasn't a difference it wouldn't have different numbers.

As was stated by Narflex:
Quote:
There is currently one adapter which we have heavily tested and will officially be supporting. It's an 802.11 b/g/n network adapter from 'Encore Electronics'. It is model #ENUWI-N.
Quote:
This device uses the Ralink 2870 chipset; so other devices which use the same chipset *may* also work; but have not been tested and are not officially supported at this time.
The ENUWI-N uses the RT2870 chipset where the ENUWI-N3 uses the RT3070 chipset. The ENUWI-NX2 is b/g only so it's NOT the same chipset as the ENUWI-N. Probably the RT305x or 307x family.

Thanks. I might get one, but the AZiO is really quite a good adapter. I'm using it on my primary work computer now. Is there a chance that they'll eventually support some of these other chipsets, or could one get into writing addons or patches that would expand the number of usable adapters?

BTW, my Samsung adapter *almost* works. It's recognized and you can enter a network SSID and password, but gets an error during configuration.

I ordered what was advertised as the ENUWI-N adapter, but what they sent was the N3. Sigh... I'm now trying to see if they even have the N in stock. Should have just ordered it from Sage, I guess.

FYI

For anyone who has a Samsung TV that can use their special (somewhat pricey) "LinkStick" WiFi adapter for internet connectivity, I just discovered that the Encore ENUWI-N works fine in its place. The LinkStick apparently uses the Ralink RT2880U chipset which is compatible enough with Encore's RT2870 chipset.

I wonder if the Samsung LinkStick would work with the SageTV HD-200 as well?

Well, like one of the above posters I ordered the ENUWI-N (from Amazon) but they sent me the ENUWI-NX2 instead. Before I call them (they'd better refund the $17 shipping as well), I'd like to confirm that the NX2 won't work.

No one seems to have answered that yet... an above poster says the NX2 is G only but the box clearly says it's N.

And to think I was soooooo close to ordering from Sage before I decided to try and save a few bucks.

Any help appreciated. Thanks,
-Chris C.

Edit: Ok, now that I think about it I guess the very title of this thread suggests that it ain't gonna work. Confirmation would be nice though : )

In case anyone ever refers to this thread, Sage support confirmed the NX2 will not work. Amazon vendor (the Price Pros) admit they messed up and are supposed to be sending me the N version eventually.
