Sequence numbers in filename

I am wondering what method is used to evaluate which number sequence is used in a filename for repeating recordings. Here is my situation:

I create a recording, create it as a daily program. I name it xfiles.mpg.

It records on Monday as xfiles-0.mpg. This is fine.

It records again, names it xfiles-1.mpg.

I notice I want to modify the schedule, this time to have it record for 61 minutes. I make the change, then the next time it records, it names it xfiles-0.mpg. It has now overwritten the original file and I get steamed.

With Hauppauge software, it evaluates the next sequence number prior to recording. This allows me to modify the schedule to my heart's content, knowing it will always find the next number. This is mighty important to work out, because I use my system as a PVR, watching the files from the hard drive. I don't necessary watch them in order.

Has this situation been evaluated while in Beta? Are there some solutions you can throw my way?

You've found a bug. It's not preserving the counter for recurring recordings when the application is exited. This will be fixed for the next release.

Thanks for the info. I know it's early to even say, but is there any estimate on the first service release on this?

Will the other items I noted (such as adding weekday/custom schedules) be appearing in that release?
