how do I set HD200 resolution
I recently installed an HD200 extender feeding a Samsung (UN46C6500; 1080p) LCD via HDMI. All works pretty well, except it appears I am stuck in 720 mode, as reported by the LCD's on screen info.
I updated the firmware to the latest version. I'm running SageMC. In another room I have an HD100 extender with a little older firmware (also with SageMC). There I have an "output resolution" setting under Setup>Detailed Setup>Multimedia. But this setting does NOT appear in the setup menus of the HD200. Other details: running Sage sw v 6.6.2.218 on a WinXP PC server in basement Java 1.6.0_11 SageMC 6.3.9a Current Stv sageMC_169-1.xml Stv v 2009120901 UI theme: std HD1080 One other note: if I cycle power to the HD200 and get the SageTV logo splashscreen, THAT is in 1080 as reported by the LCD TV's info. Thanks for your help. |

You can also cycle through the available resolutions with "Video Out" on the remote

I guess I must have some stubborn gremlins. Even my server PC doesn't have an 'output resolution' option -- look:
And the 'video out' button on the Sage remote doesn't do anything. help... Last edited by redflight; 05-13-2010 at 09:29 PM. |

boot into standalone mode, go to setup -> Video (or some such) and make sure all the resolutions that your tv supports are enabled.... The manual should have the details..
The options wont be on the server PC bc it doesnt support multiple resolutions... the same is true for the HD200... if multiple resolutions aren't enabled you wont get the dialog for choosing one (because there is only one)

Hi again, I powered up HD200 without network and in *that* setup menu I was able to change resolution to 1080p! Happiness was short-lived, however. As soon as I cycle power on the HD200 or hit 'video out' on remote it reverts to 720p and cannot be changed (except by going back to step 1). I have tried both enabling and disabling 'native output resolution switching' and 'force HDMI display mode' .. no effect.

on that setup menu where you were able to choose 1080p there should have been several boxes for other resolutions... 480i/p, 720p, 1080i/p... check all the ones that you want to have enabled... those resolutions govern which resolutions are available to the hd200 (using native resolution switching, video out, or the detailed setup option to pick a new resolution) if you only check one (1080p) then the video out, and option to pick a new resolution wont be available...

Yes, those other resolutions were there. But they behaved as radio buttons; I could only choose one.

i think you're looking in the wrong place...
in standalone mode navigate to: Settings ->Video Output -> HDMI or Component. On that screen choose the resolutions you want enabled (checkboxes) and use the video out button to cycle through the resolutions until "Startup Resolution" displays the resolution you want to be default... i think you were navigating to: Settings -> Advanced Setup -> Multimedia -> Output Resolution... that setting only effects the standalone UI.

YES! Thank you Rzr. I was on the other screen as you thought. Going to the Video Out setup screen showed almost all resolutions checked. I unclicked all but 1080p and it seems to be working.
I really appreciate your help Rzr! |

Yep, I made sure to have the latest fw.
BTW, do you know if/where there is a setting to adjust audio synchronization? With my screen, the audio leads the video by a few tenths of a sec and it's annoying. thanks again. |
