Mame/Sagetv Cabinet

I was thinking of building a MAME Arcade cabinet this summer and also loading Sagetv, so its running in the background. Has anyone done this? I have a extender on my TV, thats where I would watch recorded shows.
I figure CPU/Memory processing won't be bad.

I haven't used it for mame yet, but I use GameEx for all emulators with sagetv on my client pc. That with my wireless xbox 360 controller is awesome. I can play all of my old games without having to load a single cartridge.

If you haven't seen GameEx I suggest checking out their site.

personally, for MAME/games I prefer Hypserspin...

but I haven't tried it with sage... thought about it once, but then I got distracted...
also the fact that my mame is in an arcade type cab makes watching tv seems a bit odd...

oh and someone made a nice movies theme for HS once...

A Mame Cabinet is on my to-do list. But I'll probably keep SageTV off of it honestly.

Keep us posted on your progress. I've always been interested in MAME and if I ever find the time will have a nice Mame setup in the entertainment/bar room of the house.

I use Maximus Arcade for mine. Compared to HyperSpin it's super easy to setup and configure. I use mine in the living room connected to a 52" Samsung LCD TV with a PS3 controller. Works great.

I got an old Kung-Fu Master arcade cabinet for 75.00 off eBay several years ago and built my Mame unit around it. Took me two years of off and on work to get it to it's current, not completely finished state.
Some games are extremely cpu intensive, which might bog down Sage.
That was my "computer" hobby until Sage caught me in it's death grip...
