Delete and set watched?

Hello All,

I'm loving the new version of SageTV and I REALLY loving being on the standard UI (it's more supportable) but I miss being able to set a program as "watched" when I delete it.

In SageMC, when I would stop a show and choose to delete it it would present me with a different menu than the stock UI. One of the options in this menus was to "Delete and set watched".

Is anyone thinking of bringing this over into a plugin for v7? I would be willing to do it myself if someone could help guide me.

In the latest version of 6 and now 7, when you click "Delete" it comes up with another option box allowing you to "delete and set watched" if that's what you want to do. Is that what you are talking about? It's there for me and I'm not aware of anything I did special to get that option

Make sure the "unsupported extras" are enabled...

From the main menu in v7 go to setup->system info here if the "extras" are enabled, you will see a light blue dot near the top left of the ui (just under the "System Information" label at the top left of the screen)

If you don't see the blue dot, type "5309" without the quotes, it will show up.

Then from the main menu again go to setup->detailed setup->customize now on the right side of that page scroll down til you see the "Unsupported Extras" section, a few options below that title you will see "Use Enhanced Recording Deletion Confirmation Dialog" select and make sure it says "Always"

Now when you go to delete a recording, you will be confronted with a dialog that gives you several options, one of which is "Delete and set watched" as Brent94Z and ke6guj mentioned above.

Note: if you used this before, and somehow the "Unsupported Extras" was somehow turned off during install of v7... the option stated above may already be set to "Always"... you just needed to enable the "Extras" stuff again.

FWIW: When I use that dialog it usually lands on the same option, I usually want to "delete and set watched" so on my remote I hit "down" and it wraps to the top option which is just what I want... less button punching.

Does anyone know what the "Delete it now" option is equivalent to? Does it do the same thing as "Delete & set watched"?

Ok, i just ran a test and it looks to be an unsupported extra. Currently, the rest of the extras appear to be in the old Sage style so I'm not willing to switch.

Would this be tough to extract using Studio? I wouldn't mind getting into it and this seems like an ok project to start with. Is there a tutorial I could start with?

not sure what you mean by the rest of the extras being the old style. If you are refering to the malore menus, you can use the rest of the extras without having to use the malore menus. I have the extras enabled and don't see any "V6" style stuff.

Thanks for the clarification reboot_this. Didn't know that and didn't even know that was part of the unsupported extras! I have had those enabled for a very long time and never had the "delete and set watched" come up until I updated V6 one time and it just showed up. Thought it was part of the V6 update/patch. DOH! Thanks for fixing me

I have tried this and what I had hoped to happen did not. When I am watching a recording and do not want to watch anymore I used to press stop in SageMC and would be offered the menu choice to "delete and set watched"

Does anyone know how to get this option back from the stop button?
