PVR-150 remote and Hauppauge 2250 tuner - harmonious?

I have a couple of old PVR-150's I'd like to replace with a Hauppauge 2250 tuner card. The 2250 has two flavors: comes with no remote, or comes with a WIndows Media Center remote.

Has anyone tried using a PVR-150 remote, NON-Media Center version, and IR Blaster with the Hauppauge 2250?

The way tech support explains it, they "don't test Sage", therefore, they can't tell me if their two products will work harmoniously with Sage. They did seem to think that a non-Media Center Remote (there were two flavors of PVR -150) wouldn't work with the 2250, but I'm sure someone here has tried this.

I am using the IR Receiver that came with my HVR2250 with the old 45-button remote from my PVR150 (I like the button layout on the old remote a little better). I did have to install the IR software from the 2250 to get it to work. This updates the .ini file in Windows, so if you have customized this, you may have some additional tweaking to do.

Also, I don't think the new HVR2250 remote will work with the old PVR150 receiver (one uses RC5 and the other uses RC6 codes - maybe its just a driver thing).

So you're using the IR Blaster from the 2250 with the old remote. Did you order the version of the 2250 that INCLUDED the Media Center remote?
thanks

Yes my 2250 included the new MC Remote. Though as far as I know, the two versions of 2250 are the same except for the extra accessories in the box.
