Up to date Freesat .frq file anyone?

I have just started to undertake my semi-annual update of our SageTV server. I am now just using Freesat as I cancelled the Sky subscription a while ago & the white Sky cards don't work in my Dragon/T.Rex CAMs but it's not really worth the hassle of setting up DVBE4Sage etc just for Fiver, Five US & Sky 3 especially as there now seem to be some extra channels on Freesat.

Could some kind person please give me an up to date .frq file for Freesat? It will not only save me the effort of typing in all the data but also the hassle of debugging all the typos that I make when entering all the data.

Thanks in advance.

BTW It would be nice if we could have this made a sticky thread so it is always easily found & could always be kept updated with the latest Freesat .frq file

Cheers

Nigel

You're welcome to my frq file but I think that like most people I'm selective about what channels I bother with, and my likes may not coincide with yours.

For what it's worth, here's what I'm currently using: -

Hi,

You could also try here:-

http://sagetv.wikia.com/wiki/SageTV_...re_PC_Software

I will be updating the DVB-S freq file over the next few days to include the HD channels as well as some of channel number changes as well as the DVB-T radio and new channels.

You should be able to find nearly all the DVB-S channels and these channel numbers correspond with the XMLTV importer uploaded area so setting up a full UK channel list should be fairly quick and easy.

Also please feel free to include any new DVB-T areas.

Cheers,

I checked on the wiki first as I recall that I was among those keen to set it up. Sadly it hasn't been updated in nearly 18 months so is even more out of date than my current .frq file.

It is really good news that you are going to update the wiki. Version 7 gives us DVB-S radio channels too as I recall (Hint, hint:-)

The beauty of using DVBE4Sage though is you don't have to maintain frq files and any new channels are added automatically after you add them to your line-up and now it tunes from sky channel numbers means you don't have to set-up all the SIDs

That is a very good point. I had been only thinking about DVBE4Sage as being of use for accessing the encrypted Sky channels but of course as you point out it is useful for any SageTV DVB-S installation. I shall take another look at the documentation.

Thanks a lot. Even though you are not using the 'standard' Sky or Freesat channel numbering it does save me a lot a work as I only need to edit the channel numbers & re-arrange the order so hopefully avoiding any typos.

I finally got around to updating my .frq file which I have attached. It's not complete as I omit all the music channels, shopping channels, God channels & sundry other dross but it does include most channels on which there is anything worth watching. I use Sky channel numbers.
