Metadata Tools 4.2 Bugs in Sage V7?

Edit: Appologies, didn't realize there was a Metadata Tools subforum before posting.

I'm running Sage 7.0.11 beta and have Metadata Tools 4.2 installed through the plugin manager.

I'm having a major issue getting sage to retain the meta data for my imported videos. I will enter the metadata for an entire TV series imported as .m4v (DVD rips) and I am able to set all the individual episode information correctly. At some random point (usually during a library rescan) sage seems to be overriding all the meta data. Some of the videos retain their data, but get corrupt. Others lose it outright. I don't know what to do to keep this metadata anymore! Sometimes they will revert to "Movie" in BMT, other episodes keep their "TV" selection, but the show title gets all screwed up. Oddest thing.

DVDs seem to retain their data, just not imported videos. I only have imported .m4v videos, so I don't know if this happens to any other types or not.

I later decided to let BMT write .property files for each recording hoping that the next rescan would pick this up and keep the data in tact, but that didn't help at all. STill got corrupt. This also led me to find another bug in the .property file writing.

Basically, when it comes to fanart, it keeps writing a new entry each time an image is saved, then Re-prints the whole block. This continues on and on. My .properties files can be over 1MB in the end if hundereds of images are there (resulting in hundreds of repeating blocks).

Code:
EpisodeName=2: Purple Giraffe

EpisodeNumber=2

Fanart=1|POSTER|http://www.thetvdb.com/banners/seasons/75760-1-2.jpg

Is there some reason sage's library rescan can sometimes destroy all this work i've been doing? I have done some rescans in the past that had no problem, but occasionally one will just destroy everything. Ive put hours into metadata tagging my episode collections only to have them get obliterated by the next time I turn on the TV.

While the .properties file is large, and looks awkward, there is nothing really wrong with the file itself. This is a symptom for how sagetv processes update via the SetMediaFileMetadata, and how Phoenix/BMT sets that data. ie, I build up a list of Fanart, and everytime a new fanart image is added to the list, it ends up calling SetMediaFileMetadata with the new list. So when adding 10 pieces of fanart the list is written 10 times. This is SageTV nuance, and I can't really control when/how it writes the .properties. I can look at optimzing the Lists so that they result in fewer "sets" when adding to a list.

Eh, its not really causing me any problems. I only used the .property to test something, just something I noticed and was wondering if was a bug.

I have noticed that all my show titles are changing from "Blues Clues" to either "Blues Clues/Blues Clues" or "Blues Clues/Season 1/Blues Clues"

anyone else see this happening?

BMT does not set the "Title" field on media items except for TV files. When it does set the Title on TV items, it will set it to the TV Show Name. I no longer set the Title on normal media items (movies), but rather I set the EpisodeName to be the Movie Title. This is consistent with how I have observed the SageTV metadata WITHOUT having bmt installed.

For some reason sage tends to store the relative media path in the Title field.
