web interface

Is there a web interface in SageTV 2?

I would like to setup my recording from a web browser, something like what MythTV does...

This is not a feature that will be included with SageTV 2.0. We all use Remote Desktop or VNC for now.

In the past I also used the client on my 802.11b connected laptop by just being very careful not to ever let it try to display video. I think with current versions that would be a little bit harder, I am constantly accidently going to a video screen. But if you can avoid video, I don't see why the client could work over a slower link as well. Of course, you would have to open your pvr up to the world which wouldn't be the smartest idea in the world.

Actually, with the beta 2 and a PVR 350, I don't have any video on my monitor, so VNC is not too bad...

But a web interface would be nice to record a show from work or something like this...

I use Windows XP remote desktop to control my sage from another room.

This worked perfectly with v1.41, and now that I just upgraded to RC2 .17 all I get is a black screen.

Anyone have any ideas? I didn't see any settings in Remote Desktop that looked like they would help.

Thanks,

Andy

2.0 uses DirectX to render the UI, so it probably causes problems since your video card is doing the rendering instead of software. You can try disabling 3D accelleration in Detailed Setup -> Advanced.

Thanks a lot, this worked perfectly. I can remote desktop to my Sage again.

Any ill effects to leaving it this way? Do I need 3D acceleration for any specific reason in Sage? I don't see any performance difference. I'm running a P4 2.8 and a Gefore TI4600 DVI.

Thanks,

Andy
