Anyone using Commercial Detector + Phoenix? I set up Phoenix and now it seems that CD no longer initiates scanning on new recordings. I can still execute it manually and it works fine. Any thoughts?

It really shouldn't matter if you are using Phoenix or not since CD uses core events to initiate scanning. Can you change back to the default STV and see if it has any difference? You can also turn on debug logging, set the CD loglevel to Trace, and then attach a logfile for me to look at.

I think it might have just gotten bugged while updating/removing multiple plugins at the same time as installing P2. Manually initiating the screening seems to have kicked on the auto-detect of new episodes again. Will have more data points by tonight to confirm.

I just upgraded to Gemstone and am seeing similar behavior. I'll see what I can discern.

Let me know. I don't use Gemstone and haven't tested it so there certainly could be a bug or incompatibility.

Checking the comskip.ini file, I saw that the livetv setting was set to 0. After changing it to 1, it's detecting on live tv fine.

Is there a way to add a slight delay when running against livetv. It appears that if I have quite a few recordings scheduled at the same time. I sometimes get a corrupted file... If I use the playnice switch it does not happen. I am not using unc paths. Recording of Hd Homeruns.

I really have no plans to update the plugin at this point. I did write some code to support this feature but never got around to testing it.

I don't use this plugin since I use SJQ3, but after reading the wiki for this, it looks like tmiranda included the ability to manually pass additional parameters using the advanced options in CommercialDetector. If that works as expected, you should be able to throw a "--playnice" in there and get the results you're expecting.

In that case, you could use SJQ3 to put a delay in. You'd just have to set it like I did in the attachment (ignore the first setting, since it's not relevant to this discussion). I have mine set to start 60 seconds after each recording begins.

How about a batch file that executes comskip that delays for 5 minutes first. Then set Commercial Detector to execute it. You would have to make sure that parameters are passed thru the batch file.

If it was a minor change I'd gladly make it. IIRC the change wasn't trivial and I am just afraid I will break something and not be able to support it. The source is all available out there so if anybody wants to make changes they can. I really am not in the position to do it right now.

Moving discussion to Plugin thread....

On the manual submission - typically most recording would have commercials detected automatically on either the SageTV 'start' or 'end' recording events, correct? When would you typically need the manual capability? |

The settings are in the Plugins section. Sage7 made it easy to put settings in there so I tried to leverage that whenever it made sense.
Several times you may want to run comskip manually: - If you import recordings. - If you edit the comskip.ini to try to get better results.

Isn't there a spec in the plugin config where you specify file types???
