Freezing video on HD200 with new install 7.0.14

Hi All,

I have a new server install and am often seeing the video freeze when playing back on my HD200 - often enough that it is basically unusable. The freeze is cleared by hitting rewind (and it does not then freeze in the same place), but not by clicking play/pause.

While the video is frozen the UI remains fully responsive.

I'm using 7.0.14 on the server and the latest beta on the HD200.
Any ideas? Anything I can try?

Thanks
T

I have done a bit more testing - and it seems it does not freeze with palceshifter - only my HD200.

I'm observing a similar behavior - but only when watching on one of my SAT channels. The issue started with version 7.0.13 .

Thanks csherb - reverting back to 7.0.12 fixed it for me. I'll let Sage support know.

Switching back to 7.0.12 is not an option for me because I had some issues with audio tracks (could not switch to 2-nd or 3-rd autdio track). This issue was fixed with 7.0.13.

Up to now it is only one SAT channel which is having this issue (ZDF on Astra 19.2 °E - 11953.50 GHz, horizontzal, 27.5 MS/s, FEC 3/4). The issue occurs either when watching live TV or when watching recorded TV.

Something like:
1. Remove 7.014 MSI file from WHS software>addins folder
2. Add 7.012 MSI file to WHS software>addins folder
3. In the Console - open Settings and click Addins tab
4. Scroll the installed addins list and click uninstall on SageTV addin.
5. Restart the console and open Settings and click Addins tab
6. Click Available, Select SageTV and click Install
7. Restart the console and check SageTV is running

Note: You will alos need to set the Service Login again if you hade previously modified this.

Hope this helps

just want to make sure that it doesn't erase my Sagetv folder with properties and wiz.bin...i will back those up anyway but can you maybe confirm that everything stays the same just as it does when you overwrite an update.

I would always recommend a backup but yes I can confirm that it is just like doing an update and worked fine for me

They have asked me for some logs - which I have not had time to submit, and am unlikely to until tomorrow at the earliest. If you have a chance feel free to . Here are the instructions from them:

I will need logs from the HD200 when the freeze occurs.

Here are the directions for getting logging.

Send me the sagetv_0.txt and messages file from the HD200.

Thanks,

I tried to re-install v7.0.13 but even after doing a "modify" or a "repair" , the system believes I have got version v7.0.12.234 so the bug does not show.

SageTV support told me, after analyzing some logs I created for them, that in my case it is an issue with DVB subtitles and will be fixed with 7.0.15

I get the exact same problem after installing 7.0.14, both my HD200's were freezing on recorded or live TV, but UI is fully active. My HD200 Viewing is normally rock solid - quick return to 7.0.12 solved the problem and WAF restored!
I'm in the UK, If you need logs let me know!

Yes, I had the same issue, and discovered that watching TV channels without any subtitle works, but as I soon switch to BBC for instance which 99% or the programs has subtitles then the freeze occurs...it looks like that the subtitle support is still very experimental...

Be sure to do a firmware update as well before you come to a conclusion on this. It should be fixed though; we were able to reproduce the problem in the prior version.
