Aspect Ratio Mode changes... what do they change?!?
Ok.. well I have my computer connected to my 16:9 projector... a few programs i can get thru digital satellite will be in 16:9.. which i'll want stored normally... in fact that confuses it... i know that on DVDs its all stored at actual pixel res of 4:3... the resolution i'm recording in now is a 4:3 resolution...
It just strikes me as strange that the aspect ratio mode is in the multimedia tab, right next to the video capture settings... when i go from watching a 16:9 show (24) to watching a none widescreen one I want to get 4:3 back.. I was getting this last night when first trying out your program... i've since reinstalled to get XMLTV working... I am afraid of changing it as I dont want it to mess with any recordings being done at that time.... Does the aspect ratio selector simply alter the decoding stage... or does it make any changes to actual encoding?!? if the latter could we have a supplementary decoding ratio change in the Video tab... I am going to register probably tomorrow, or the day after... it really is great.. took a long time setting up... I'd like my PVR-250 to be a bit sharper but I'll look into that later on... it is so difficult altering the video proc stuff in the detailed setup.. NO REALTIME changes... and a lengthy process back to video (which you then have to change channel to change encoding job to reflect the changes!?!?) Enough enough.. its late... Thanks... 99% great and growing now that the EPG is working its making far more sense Jim |
