The monitor is great. I don't have Sage up and running yet, but I'm hopeful that I can take advantage of the resolution (1024x768) to use ffdshow and get super sharp picture. Works very well as a flat screen TV, too. If you're in the market for a Sage-capable display in the 27" range, I think this might be hard to beat for the price.

Word of caution: If you get one, be careful when you take it out of the box. There's a wee door on the bottom left of the front panel that covers the front composite inputs. It's easy to break as you pull the monitor out of the box.

Thanks for the info. Mine is already on the truck on the way here. Makes me feel good to know that someone else has had luck with this. Should be a big improvement over my 27" SDTV in the bedroom.

Thx for the update - btw, what are the monitor's dimensions? I poked around but couldn't find anything on the web. Let us know what you think of the image quality too when your all setup.

The Dimensions are:

Width: 26.3"
Depth: 23.4"
Height: 19.5"

These are quoted from the Phillips marketing paper. I have attached the file if anyone is interested in this montor. (It's a PDF file)

Those dimensions are wrong, which caused me no end of headache. The width is actually 30 inches, not 26.3. There are speakers built into the cabinet on either side, which makes it wider than a standard 27 inch TV. Measure carefully, as it might not fit in your entertainment center -- I speak from bitter experience here. (I'm keeping the monitor, but had to go out and get a new entertainment center to house it).

Grasshopper,

Are the rest of the measurements correct? I am building my entertainment center for this montior and have made adjustments to my plans to accommodate the new width, do I need to make other changes?

I assumed you meant TV w/Sage then noticed on the Philips brochure there is indeed an optional tuner - did it come with that option too?

From the PDF it looks like the Height is actually 23.4 and the depth is 19.5. Is this correct?

My built-in cabinet is only 20 inches deep, and I've been looking for a larger monitor that will fit.

I must have transposed the numbers when I posted. It's not a wide screen.

It's 23.5" high. Depth is hard to measure, as it's in my (new) cabinet, but 19.5" looks about right. I had to cut away part of the back of the cabinet to make it fit.

Update:

I recieved my monitor last night. There were no problems setting it up and the picture is great. The front panel that grasshopper warned about had snapped off during shipping, but nothing that can't be fixed.

Grasshopper, Thanks for the great find!!!!
