I then found the setting and changed it to 01:30 to start recording at 1:30am. When looking at the options menu in a pod cast folder, it shows 0 in the queue, 0 recorded, and 0 failed. Last night when I set it up, it should 3 in the queue.
I see that it tried to download your favorites at 1:30 but there were no new episodes to record. This may be because of what you are trying to download The Channels.com side effect may not be working properly. Try it with a normal podcast and see what happens.

Also remember that for this version the scheduler on effects when Favorites are downloaded. If you are manually recording a podcast it will download that immediately.

So I downloaded a normal podcast by adding a favorite. I did it first with the scheduler set to 0 and it started to record right away. I then waited for that to finish and changed the scheduler to 10:00. At 9:50 I added a favorite and the podcasts downloaded right away.

Also, I notice that the name of the Podcast isn't being captured by the plugin so you have to either leave it with no name or type it in manually.

Attached are new logs.

Thanks

A few things going on here.

1. I need to change something in the UI to prevent the podcasts from being downloaded as soon as you add the Favorite. Right now the UI forces a download so it needs to be adapted for this to work properly.

2. Please set the loglevel to Trace. You have it on Verbose and there's too much stuff to sort through

3. It's not calculating the correct time to start the downloading. That will be fixed in the next version.

4. What podcast are you choosing as a Favorite that shows up with no title? So far I can't reproduce it. Bring up the "Database Browser" for that podcast and tell me what you see in each field or better yet post a screenshot.

Thanks,

Tom

Under Science-Tech, I tried App Judgement and Cranky Geeks. If I do a single record, it seems to populate the name, but when setting up a favorite it doesn't.

When you select the Favorite do you have a single podcast in focus or are you one menu higher?

Are you pressing the Fav key on the remote or are you selecting the Fav options from the menu that is displayed?

Thanks. I'll try to look into it this weekend.

I was at one menu higher. I'm selecting favorite options from the menu that is displayed.

Thanks

I just tried this and it works fine in my test system. Please try the bringing up the Database Browser and removing all Favorites that do not have a name. Re-add the Favorites and let me know if the problem persists.

Also, what version of the STV are you using? Go to Setup->Detailed Setup->Advanced and look for "Check for STV Update", the current version will be listed and will be something similar to 2011040501.

Version 1.72

Here is a version that fixes the bugs in the scheduler. To install:

- Download the attached .xml and place it in the Sage install directory on your server.
- Go to the Plugin Manager UI Mod section and update the PodcastRecorder UI (It should say version 1.72.)

I removed all the entries in the database and the podcast show name now shows up as the show title.

Good. I figured it was a problem that was carried over from an older version. Let me know how the scheduler works out.

Server-client recording problem

Hello,

Have the "vikingisson's issue" been resolved? I think i am seeing the same problem: I can record from the extender HD100, but not from the PC client (running on the same machine as the SageTV server).

If this is still an unresolved problem, please let me know if any additional logs would be helpful to debug it.

Reagdsr,
Michael.

Still an unresolved issue. A log would be great, thanks.

Thank you. Can you shutdown Sage, restart, let it run for a minute or two (no need to try to record anything) and then send the server logfile? I need to see what's happening on startup.

I think when running the client on the server you get two logfiles (one for the server and one for the client). Can you please start the client and send me that logfile too?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Will any additional information be useful for further debugging?

Not at this point. I still don't quite understand why you are seeing the results you are. Hopefully over the long weekend I'll have time to look at this in more depth.
