[HELP!] Problem with HDHR and Scanning for Channels
Ok I'm using beta 7.0.20.
I followed the HDHR setup instructions completely. In the HDHR setup I changed the values of any channels that I wanted enabled from being n.1 channels to just being n. If I hit preview, everything seems fine and working. The *.scn files exist in my Program Files\SageTV folder. When I go to add the source and scan for channels, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do a "Full Scan" or an "Update Scan". Never the less I have tried both. In either case the scan seems to take forever and only finds 2 of the 10 channels that I have enabled, and I can't figure out why. I'm using Windows 7 64Bit ultimate, and no UAC. I am also not using any guide data. Below is the text that shows up in my *.scn and *.frq files respectively: .scn ------------------------------------------------------------- # Generated by HDHomeRun Setup CH:1 major:1008 minor:51 prog:2009 phy:80 frq:559250000 mod:0 #:KUSI CH:2 major:1008 minor:16 prog:2016 phy:78 frq:547250000 mod:0 #:ITVS CH:3 major:1008 minor:6 prog:1706 phy:23 frq:217250000 mod:0 #:XETVDT CH:4 major:1008 minor:39 prog:1707 phy:23 frq:217250000 mod:0 #:KNSDDT CH:5 major:1008 minor:716 prog:1716 phy:12 frq:205250000 mod:0 #:WGNHD CH:6 major:1008 minor:36 prog:1715 phy:22 frq:169250000 mod:0 #:Univision HD CH:7 major:1008 minor:69 prog:1705 phy:18 frq:145250000 mod:0 #:KSWBDT CH:8 major:1008 minor:15 prog:1711 phy:18 frq:145250000 mod:0 #:KPBSDT CH:9 major:1008 minor:8 prog:1708 phy:98 frq:109250000 mod:0 #:KFMBDT CH:10 major:1008 minor:10 prog:1710 phy:98 frq:109250000 mod:0 #:KGTVDT .frq ------------------------------------------------------------- VERSION 3.0, country:United States of America TYPE ATSC #fec_rate: 1:fec1/2, 2:fec2/3, 3:fec3/4, 4:fec3/5, 5:fec4/5, 6:fec5/6, 7:fec5/11, 8:fec7/8 9:fec1/4 10:fec1/3 # 11:fec2/5 12:fec6/7 13:fec8/9 14:fec8/9 15:max #fec: 1:VBC, 2:RS/2048, 3:maximum #polarisation: 1:linear_H, 2:Linear_V, 3:Circular_L, 4:Circular_R #modualtion: 1:16QAM:1, 2:32QAM, 3:64QAM, 4:80QAM, 5:96QAM, 6:112QAM, 7:128QAM, 8:160QAM, 9:192QAM, 10:224QAM, # 11:256QAM, 12:320QAM, 13:384QAM, 14:448QAM, 15:512QAM, 16:640QAM, 17:768QAM, 18:896QAM, 19:1024QAM, # 20:QPSK, 21:BPSK, 22:OQPSK, 23:8VSB:23, 24:16VSB 31:NBC_QPSK 32:NBC_8PSK #ctrlbits: 0:disable, 1:enable, 3:encrypted #format: CH:1 major:51 minor:1 prog:1709 phy:12 frq:205250000 #:KUSI-Di CH:2 major:12 minor:1 prog:2012 phy:12 frq:205250000 #:Leased-

If you're using Winodws 64 bit then your Sage installation should be in the C:\Program Files (x86) directory and that should also be where the .scn files are. Your symptom of taking a long time to scan in Sage means it is not finding the .scn files.

No that's not it. . . in fact that's where they were sorry I wasn't more clear.
I think it has something to do with the fact that I didn't use a line up / guide data. I removed all the .scn and .frq files, then did the HDHR setup again, and made sure that all the channel numbers matched what they are in zap2it. Then the 2nd time I used guide data inside sage, and it worked fine. Strange. . .
