Should I still use 64k Block in a raid for Sage
I will be setting up my new raid this weekend. I have 5- 2TB drives coming in. So I'm looking at either raid 5 to get make space, or raid 10 for make performance, especially when a drive fails.
Now do I still need to use 64k blocks when formatting? If not, what would be the best to use for sage?

See the following reference: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48421 "Removed the need for formatting disks with 64k clusters in order to get optimal disk performance on Windows Previously, we had recommended formatting Windows disks with 64k clusters in order to get optimal recording performance. This is no longer needed due to optimizations in the Windows capture system."

I still do it. I even do it for my file servers since rarely will I store something on my file server that is less than 64KB.

And keep in mind the recommendation was for Windows server. A Linux server didn't need this.

Yes, I see the comment about the formatting, BUT, does change with Sage7 apply only to windows 7 or does it also apply to WHS, XP? I was getting ready to pull my WHS drives one by one and reformat them for 64k just to get the duplication on the video (right now it is a separate non-pool drive).

Since all the Windows servers should be using NTFS it should apply to all flavors.
