Media file durations messed up after moving recordings. (Resolved)

I submitted the following as an official sage support request, but I'd thought I'd post here also in case some friendly user knows a solution.

Thanks

--------------------------------------------------

Hi,

One of my recording disks in my server was dying. I put in a new disk, copied all my recordings to new disk, changed advanced_video_file_recovery to true, and sage found all my recordings. HOWEVER, the media file duration (as reported by nielm's web interface) for all my recordings prior to the disk swap are WRONG! This manifests in sage as the time bar being all messed up, and I can't seek in my shows.

For example, the NBC nightly news from Oct 12 is 30 minutes long. The web interface shows the media file duration as 199688. It should be 1797 (because it started 1.5 seconds after the airing start time).

I tried renaming the media file, deleting the show from sagetv using the web interface, then re-importing the show xml with the corrected duration. When I do this, I get a message that the airing is already in the DB. After the import, the mediafile duration returns to the incorrect time.

How can I fix this?

Thanks,
Sean

Found the problem. The internal format detection is not working on my system. Seems like things are OK for new recordings, but not for existing. I'm able to work around it by setting

skip_internal_format_parser=true

That seems to be working so far. I re-did the advanced file recovery with that set and the durations are good again.
