Problem with timeshift/skip?
Hello all, thank you for reading this.
I am a new SageTV owner, and I have read the manual but I am finding an issue that does not seem to make sense. The manual seems to indicate that skip right/skip left should jump in 10 second increments during media playback, or while in timeshift mode (the time stamp turns purple) it should jump in 2.5 minute increments. My skip right/skip left now seems locked into 2.5 minute increments regardless of whether I am in time shift mode (time stamp purple) or not. Did I miss something in the manual? Is there some action I have to take to revert the skip right/skip left back to 10 second mode? Any help is appreciated. Mike |

Did you exit the time scroll (purple) mode. Using time scroll requires three steps. Turn it on, skip desired amount, turn it off.
BTW: An easier way to get a 2.5 min. skip is to exit sageTV and modify the properties file. Set the videoframe/rew_time2 and videoframe/ff_time2 to the desired amount. Then restart SageTV and go into detailed setup under commands and assign a keystoke to Skip Fwd #2 and Skip Bkwd #2. You can then skip the desired amount in a single keystroke.

I exited the time scroll purple mode.
I was experimenting all last night with my silver hauppauge remote, figuring out what buttons on the remote map to what control keys and trying to figure out what the different commands did. I thought the only difference between FF1 and FF2 was one was double mapped to page right. This is aparently incorrect. I've mapped in FF1 again to the fast forward and now I have the 10 second jumps on that button, and 2.5 minute jumps on the skip button. Everything is working great now, thanks for help. Mike |
