HD300 placeshifting - cannot get transcoder to use more than one core
I have a dual core CPU in my sage server. When I try to use my HD300 from a remote location such that sage has to transcode the video, I cannot get the sage server to use the full CPU. CPU utilization for the sagetvtranscoder.exe process maxes out at 50% (indicating its only using a single core). This is really annoying as the process maxes out a single core on h264 content and causes extreme jittering as it's unable to keep up.
I have searched the forums and tried setting the xcode num threads manually, but those settings seem to have no effect. I cannot make the transcoder process use the second core. Does anyone know if I'm missing something, or is this a transcoder bug? |

I believe the transcoder itself is not multi-threaded. I could be wrong about that of course.
