Android Video Streaming?

Given the proliferation of Android devices this year, I was wondering if anyone has come up with a video streaming solution? I used to be able to do this with my old winmo5 phone, albeit very roughly but I did enjoy streaming my mp3 library. I used the standard web interface which supported playlist formats that my phone understood. So far, I haven't found any of those formats work with my Samsung Fascinate on android 2.1. Anyone have better luck?

It can be done through VLC, though it depends on which media player you have installed on the Android device, and which parameters you use with VLC...

I've found orb works pretty good.

So i cooked this up last night: It allows a bit easier browsing of recordings with ORB, or other mobile streaming programs. If you're running a Vista or 7 server, it might be worth a look at.

I just tried orb and couldn't get the android browser to play a file but I was able to get the Orb App to do so. I was surprised to see that it only show MPG formatted videos so most of my Imported Videos were missing. Is there a limitation on what Orb can transcode?

I'm not really sure what orb can/can't handle. I believe it uses ffmpeg, which means it SHOULD handle pretty much anything.

The odd thing is that it displays none of my directories that are filled with .TS and .MKV files. I wonder if it's the file extension that it's having a hard time with?

I don't know. .mkv files show up fine for me. Are you positive you've got those folders added to your orb software on the server?

I thought so, but I'll double check tonight when I get home. I'm pretty sure I imported both my SageTV Recordings directory and my Videos import directory but maybe I'm mistaken.
