I believe out of the box any newly recorded TV shows and newly imported videos should have fanart automatically fetched. I am not sure if there is a way to make BMT go back and rescan all your old files and automatically downlaod the fanart. There probably is, but I am unaware of it. It is best to ask that over in the BMT sub-forum where the experts are.

Any chance for sorting options with series?
It would be nice to see the newest recordings rise to the top. Kind of as a reminder that they recently recorded without looking at each individual entry's watched status. |

It is required for fan art, and discovering episode seasons, sorting, etc.

For the episodes, would it be possible to have the seasons collapse and then if you went down to season 2 of the office for example, you select it and then the episodes expand out underneath? Just wondering if this would make browsing a show that you have many season's of (Office, Simpsons . . .) Easier to jump to.
Also along Wrem's line of though, highlight the collapsed season if there is a new recording there. |

That is odd - I do most of my testing on the server and don't have any fanart issues. I will have to add some additional logging and see if we can't track this down.

This plugin is FANTASTIC and will result in watching many old TV shows over again (Frasier, King of Queens, Roseanne, Seinfeld, etc.)
THANK YOU! (and thanks too from Mrs. Shield)

Series/Season Listing Problem
As an example, I have the episodes of the series Battlestar Galactica (2003) in the following folder structure:
e:\Television\Battlestar Galactica\Season 1 \Season 2 \Season 3 \Season 4 Within the season subforlders, a typical episode filename is: Battlestar Galactica-s01e01-33.mkv The fanart folder has the same structure except the path is: c:\Program Files (x86)\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\Phoenix\FanArt When I open TV Browser, it displays the following listing: Battlestar Galactica/Season 1/Battlestar Galactica Battlestar Galactica/Season 2/Battlestar Galactica Battlestar Galactica/Season 3/Battlestar Galactica Battlestar Galactica/Season 4/Battlestar Galactica I had expected to see just "Battlestar Galactica" listed, which I could click on to reach the season subfolder information as per the images in the original post in this thread. I have removed the "Television" import folder and re-added it, but no joy. I have re-scanned the import folders repeatedly, but no joy. I have re-scanned the metadata within the BMT WebUI, but no joy. As you can see, I am assuming this is a folder structure problem, but I may well be wrong. As it is not clear to me from where or how TV Browser gets its data, can anyone give me an idea of what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance. |

Thanks for the quick response.
For both Fanart Title and Show Title the values are "Battlestar Galactica". |

Good work on the plugin!!! One Question\Enhancement???
I have a long list of TV series to scroll through. I see I can use numbers on the remote to filter the list but I can't seem to figure out how to cancel or step back without getting out of TVBrowser. I would like to be able to cancel a search without having to leave the plugin screen. Other comments on the Plugin: Personally I would rather have it filter on just the first letter in the name of the show (Excluding "The") but perhaps that is just getting used to it. I know that is how the search works today so it is consistent. Also: I miss the old SageMC method of a right arrow giving me a ABC list that I could scroll through for filtering. I would think that would actually work well here as well. Enter to get the shows or Right arrow to get the skip\filter by ABC. (Just an idea to chew on I know you probably already have a ton of improvements planned an not enough time to do them.) Again Great Plugin!!! |
