I only have VMR9 enabled. I will try enabling 3D Accelleration when I get home tonight.

Thanks Stranger89

FYI with VMR9 selected and 3D Acceleration not, Sage drops down to Overlay. So don't think you were running VMR9 before .

I concur in that I always thought the mini-guide would / should have the same navigational features as the main Guide: up, down, left, right, page-up, page-down, page-left, page-right, and number navigation. Page up/down would be something like 5 to 10 channels at a whack and page left/right would be something like 4 to 12 hour jumps. Just my thoughts. Too bad there is trouble with left / right movement.

As a minimum, number navigation would be convenient.

Ok, I set 3D Acceleration on and VMR9. Then I enabled Colored Keys. Went to main menu and tried to select Live TV and sage crashed. Is there something I am missing?

First personal version had left and right capability. It had some performance issues though so I killed it.
well cool thanks for adding the number jump

but what if you added left and right but limited it to an hour and a half no farther

also what about hit the guide button once for mini guide
then hit it again for full guide
then third time would mini guide again
etc...
I believe there is an exit command
it could be used to exit the guide altogether

also oin the background image anyway you could modify it is the reduced main menu you made will fit the inside border

just thinking of cool tweaks

thanks again for the sweet skin

Tried it and I am still getting the same thing. SageTV crashes.

What video card do you have? Are you running the latest drivers for it? Do you have DX9 installed?

I have a AIW 8500 with TV out. Yes I have the latest drivers and yes I have DX9 installed. It only happens when I have both VMR9 and 3D Acceleration enabled together.

Look for any hs_err_pidXXXX.log files in your Sage directory. Since this is only going on when Sage is accessing DX9 you have an issue in that area somewhere .

I think I just figured out my problem. (At least in this situation) I don't think that the AIW 8500 is DX9 compatible. I will have to get a new card. I am thinking of getting the 9600. I hear the bang for the buck is pretty good. Any thoughts. I really want to check out your skin to its fullest. What I have seen so far I really like.

I've had trouble using MlbDude's and Malore's STV in VMR9. However, I attribute that to the nVidia 3.0 codec. I suspect that if I used an alternate codec, the trouble would go away.

I have found the nVidia codec to be touchy while at the same time I like it's PQ the best. Figures. Perhaps the release version of the nVidia codec will be more tolerant.

Lotusvball: If using the nVidia codec (even 2.55) try a different one.

Not using the nVidia codec. I have tried a couple of different codecs with the same results. I went to ATI's website and the AIW 8500 has no mention about being compatible with DX9, but the 9600 does state that. Also the AIW 8500 is dicontinued, but the 7500 is still active. I think that alone tells me something.

the problem is the ATI cyberlink decoder you are using
uninstall it and reinstall it the lastest version if possible and do not change the DVXA mode or deinterlacing mode from default
set it up with ATI cyberlink decoder for video use something else for audio decoding
turn on 3D acceleration and start up video
it never crashed sage before for me but I figured out not to change those two settings when using that decoder and VMR9

it works fine with my 9600 XT but the playback still skips during panning
The only decoders I could get to work well with VMR9 is elecard (did not like the deinterlacing) and intervideo (too much blurring)

if you are using TV out from the video card though it should be a different story

I can watch it skip and stutter on the computer monitor and playback perfect on a SDTV

A video card does not have to support DX9 directly to work with VMR9. It just means that the CPU will have to do a little more work. Tons of people are running VMR9 with older nVidia and ATI cards.

mlbdue,
Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but what is the red "F" on the sage recordings. I believe this was added when I started using your skin.

thanks,
