Studio Preview?

The STVs being posted are great, any chance of a preview of Studio being posted, maybe a couple of screen shots?

Timetable on all that is up to Jeff and Dan. Personally I hope they wait until Sage2 sinks in a little, at least a week(personal wish not a Frey timetable) minimium. Don't want to distarct from SageTV2 for new users. But this is just my personal opinion. However the fact that they are allowing those of us with access to the Studio to share our STVs shows we're moving in that direction. It's just one of those things that needs to be handled carefully.

Dan said Studio would be a couple weeks while they finish up the documentation. (I don't feel like finding it ATM though).

I personally think its kinda of a tease. Especially since some of us were promised it nearly eight months ago. If they are working on documentation, then those few that are strongly interested should be allow to play with studio and hack away without documentation. The fact is most of studio will likely be community supported anyway, and the whole point of "beta" is that its not complete. So I guess my point is, if you all could figure it out, we could as well. And I find it very frustrating to see all the fun you guys are having making several different stvs when I feel the whole community should by now have had access to this.

I realize it will cause confusion for a few, especially without documentation, but that is why you make it available on a ask only basis, with the understanding that absolutely no official support will be provided at the current moment.

I also realize that there might be more power to the software then we can discover without documentation, thats a limitation of documentation, but as long as we all understand the point, I think its time they release the software (well actually I think all that is needed is a change in the properties file).

I guess, it just all seems kinda of silly to me,

I've got an idea. Why don't Dan and Jeff select some more of us who are willing to contribute to the documentation as we go. That way, we can play with it, and help them get it out the door faster.

I wondered how long(after Sage2 launch) it would take for this conversation to start up again. I'm sure it would've started sooner if not for the new forum.

I was just hoping for a preview, someone post a couple of screen shots in a thread here of the Studio tool, and maybe comment on the level of programming needed to make UI changes...

I would love to have studio with 0 support from Frey. You would not hear 1 single complaint from me on any of the features.

Interesting that they are waiting on documentation on one of their products, but it didn't seem to stop them from rolling out v2, even though there are inherent bugs still in the system that are well documented and easily reproducable.

Just my 2cents.

No software is completly 100% bug free

One needs to make a decision when the cost of fixing bugs begins to get to high and decide to just release the product.

Being a programmer myself I am very impressed with the stability of the Sage product. I have used a few other PVR software packages, and none of them, on my systems atleast, have come close to the stability of Sage.

Although I really wish they would give us some more info. It really makes me think that Studio is a lot farther away from release then what they have been telling us. Weeks before Sage 2 beta was released we had screen shots, and some technical specs to keep us entertained for a while.

Oh well.... I will keep waiting in the wings!

How about documentation for the SAGE 2.0 program itself! Geez, come on people, your woried about a PLUGGIN or a app to modify the core program when the core program aint even done!

New users ARE lost by alot of undocumented features and verbage.
