You likely need admin permissions to stop the service on Windows 7. Right click the script and "Run as administrator..." That should get it running if I'm right.

To echo GKusnick comment it’s not a bad idea to backUp the entire Sage directory.
Here’s a batch file, to do that without rebooting. Make sure the destination directory exist and make note if you’re a 64 bit system or 32 bit.

Edit sourcePath ["Program Files (x86)"=64bit system, "Program Files"=32bit], destination path and saveAS a .bat or .cmd file

Code:
@echo off
rem Command string=XCOPY sourcePath destinationPath /swtichs
rem Saving SageTV directory ["Program Files (x86)"=64bit system, "Program Files"=32bit]
rem Set your own destenation path
echo Backup Sagetv Config ...

NET STOP SageTV
xcopy "C:\Program Files (x86)\SageTV\*.*" D:\Sage\SageTVBackUp\ /e /r /Y
NET START SageTV

slugger, buck1952,

I will give your suggestions a try just as soon as Sage has completed one last recording.

FWIW the 10 or shows I recorded today were all good. My hope is that stopping and restarted Sage daily will keep the problem at bay until the root cause it determined and fixed.

UPDATE: Neither of the suggestion worked. After executing using Administrators Rights the command window opens for a split second and that is it. Any other suggestions?

I am feeling pretty dumb right now....I have been using Sage for a year and did not know that it could be run in TV Server mode. Once I figured that out, which was about 5 mins ago, the .bat file stuff works quite nicely.

Thanks to all.

I realise that, previously strippers were limited to s/pdif, hence no HD audio passing.

Sorry... I had commented out the Reboot and Sage shutdown while playing with the Colossus this weekend and for. Remove the echo and quotes from the shutdown line.

shutdown -r -t 30

HD optical audio is not working for me, at all. Anyone else? I even tried with PS3. I have channel changes down to 5 seconds, sweet! I will be ordering a second soon!

Not necessarily.

It should works how ever I can't test this becuase my DirecTV STB H24-100 dosen't have toslink output.
I'm confused, LOL...
Weren't you saying it wouldn't work, based on what you know about hd-pvr?
Anyway I'm not that interested in audio capture/dump via toslink, as it's too limited.

Yes bitstream mode, I ready sent note off to Hauppauge to see if this can be look at for us DirecTV and Dish user over HDMI and I ref to 8ch PCM encoded which would need a new Audio Licensing in order to do 5.1 or 7.1 encoding over AAC or AC3
Oh really? Sweet!
Are you likely to get any response from them about it, or will you just be stonewalled?

Are we sure it doesn't support 8ch LPCM it out-of-the-box already?*
I had a look at their product page the other day & it isn't very clear.

I'm amazed that some DirecTV and Dish content uses "HD" audio?
If so that would create a much stronger argument as-to-why they should implement 8ch LPCM w/support for DD/DTS "HD" formats.

*Doubt it...
And if it supported "HD" DD/DTS that'd definitely be mentioned!

If either dish or directv support anything other than DD I'd be shocked. I don't even think they support DTS mcuh less multichannel pcm. I'm going to have to look as it has been a while since I've look at that stuff...

Low audio hum

Is anyone with the Colosuss getting a low audio hum in the recordings. I do not hear the hum in the recordings made with the HDHR but ALL of the recordings from Colosuss have it. Any thoughts on what may be causing it?

I am using component + CableTV STB.

Thank you for the suggestions. I am just wondering why I did not have a hum with my PVR150, same audio connection.

I will give one or both of the suggestions a try.
