I might as well say happy new year now, since heavy rains just after midnight on 1/1/11 knocked out the entire neighborhood's phone lines, on which most of us (including me) rely for DSL. So I was internet-less from Saturday morning until 6 pm Monday night. Aaargh!

Hard to believe, in only about 12-15 years or so, how much I rely on having internet... especially when I'm laying around the house on vacation with nothing to do and desperately seeking a way to avoid the "honey do" list.
