HD300 - No audio on xvids
Ok, so I had a wonderfully working setup running XP. I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 32-Bit(so I could sill use firewire channel change) and everything works great but one thing. I can not get any audio from my xvids. Recorded TV, imported videos like Bluerays, DVD and the such work great. I get no audio from any of the xvids though. They work great on the HD200's, so it has to be a HD300 issue. I have the HD300 set to Digital PCM output and connected via optical cable to a receiver. This is the same exact setup as it was when it was working fine under XP.
Can anyone offer a hint, as my hair is almost all pulled out. Thanks

Update - No audio for online videos either, just tested that part. It seems the HD300 just refuses to output non-digital audio. This all worked under the old install.

Ok, I'm an idiot, but also not afraid to say so in case I can help someone else in the future.
I am used to using the TV volume + and - keys on the remote that work on the audio receiver I have and that worked fine for everything. However, with the analog audio, even though it is coming out of some wire into same receiver, I had to turn the volume up within sage to be able to hear it. Everything working great now, geez. Changing my forum name so I never have to show my face again

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but...
I was having problems where certain videos using MP2 audio were not playing on our receiver via the HDMI connector. All the "modern" videos we recorded were all DTS 5.1 blah blah blah but these recordings were all recorded using an older capture card that recorded using an analog in. For quite some time today I was scratching my head wondering if it was codecs, or something crazy when I read this thread... played back the previously mute video and... turned up the volume on the HD300 (which usually doesn't do anything with audio that is passed through). Sure enough, I now have sound for our older videos.... thanks! Quote:
