Changing IR emitter illumination time in USB-UIRT in Sage
Following up to my own post here: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54011 I think I found a possible cause of my problem at the following links.
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48530 http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49725 It seems that Sage and/or the USB-UIRT spend too much time keeping the IR emitter lit when sending each digit. Is there way to change the length of time the USB-UIRT and/or Sage keeps the IR emitter lit when it sends a digit? This is NOT the same thing that is controlled by the "Delay Between Codes" setting. That setting handles how long to wait before sending the next digit after the previous one has been sent. I want to control how long the IR emitter is lit while sending a digit. |

I think what you really are looking for is the RepeatCount. This is the second line in the *.IR file (c:\program files(X86)\SageTV\Common\RemoteCodes\USB-UIRT Transceiver).
You can edit this file with Notepad. This isn't how long the LED stays lit (you wouldn't really want to control that), it is more like how long you hold each button down on you remote.

During the IR training that Sage does when adding a tuner controlled by IR (USB UIRT), it asks for digits 0-9 but no more. I see in some .IR files that Repeat Count is stated, as is GUIDE, ENTER and EXIT and others. For changing channels, why would other than digits be in the file? (this is for IR-sending to a tuner, not decoding a user's remote's IR codes received.)
If I edit in values for ENTER, will sage send the channel change digits then send an ENTER to speed changes (because the set top box won't have to timeout waiting for more digits)? |

Depends upon what you have set.
Same place you set the Delay Between Codes and the Repeat Factor, you can also tell it to send something either pre or post. That is where you can tell it ENTER (once you teach it ENTER) for post |

Thanks -- Ah, in Sage7, I found what you speak of, the learned IR codes and timing settings, in the setup Video Source menus. I was looking in the other setup menus.
