Official release is locking far too much
I had very little problems with Sage locking up with the RCs, maybe once per week at most. With the final release I am locking 2-3 times in a few hours.
Nothing else about my HTPC has changed. I will go back to the last RC and report back with the results. |

Are you using a 350? If not we can step you through troubleshooting what is going on. Give us some specs.

WinTV 250 OEM from Sage. Abit NF7-S w/ 2500+. ATI 9600 non-pro. All atandard stuff. All the beta version did not lockup like this, but I guess it's possible Windows update did something.

I'm having lockup issues as well - they all seem to stem from ff/rew... Sometimes I can watch a couple of shows, sometimes it crashes after only watching 15 minutes or so. If left alone (to simply record things), I've never experienced a crash - but once I start watching something, look out.
I am using a PVR350 (two actually), but I have the output disabled and I'm just using the default Intervideo decoder...

I thought my problems were ff/rw related until it locked mid play the other day. I went back to RC18, I'll report back if I find any thing else.
Edit: It locked up again. I lowered my FSB and next I will try to set back the network card drivers that Windows update changed. Last edited by Todd33; 05-23-2004 at 10:30 PM. |
